POSITION SUMMARY:This Senior Software Engineer is a Senior OMS Microservices Developer who is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and orchestration of IBM Sterling Order Management solutions within a modern microservices ecosystem. This role bridges the gap between core OMS logic and distributed cloud architecture, ensuring seamless order lifecycles across complex omnichannel environments. You will execute high-impact projects in accordance with Business Requirement Documents (BRD) while driving the transition toward scalable, service-oriented patterns.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  <ul><li>Architectural Design: Lead the development and optimization of microservices integrated with IBM Sterling OMS to support complex order lifecycle processes, specifically focusing on &#34;headless&#34; commerce implementations.</li><li>OMS Core Configuration: Implement and extend core OMS functionalities including Global Inventory Visibility (GIV), complex sourcing rules, and customized order orchestration pipelines.</li><li>Integration Ecosystem: Design and build high-throughput integration flows between OMS and external systems (ERP, WMS, POS, and Payment Gateways) using a mix of RESTful APIs and asynchronous messaging.</li><li>Modernization: Drive the containerization of OMS components and surrounding services using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/OpenShift).</li><li>Performance Engineering: Provide expert guidance on performance tuning (JVM heap settings, thread pool management), high availability, and fault-tolerant circuit breaker patterns (e.g., Resilience4j).</li><li>DevOps &amp; CI/CD: Ownership of automated build and deployment pipelines, ensuring that OMS extensions and microservices are deployed via Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.</li><li>Strategic Collaboration: Work with Application Managers and business stakeholders to translate complex supply chain requirements into lean, technical functional designs.</li><li>Technical Mentorship: Perform rigorous code reviews, establish coding standards for Java/Spring Boot and OMS extensions, and mentor junior engineers in distributed system design.</li><li>ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED</li></ul>EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Minimum Degree Required:    Bachelor&#39;s Degree</li><li>OMS Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Sterling API framework, Agent/Service definitions, Custom Extensions (User Exits), and Database Extensibility.</li><li>Technical Stack (Required)</li><li>Backend &amp; Microservices: Advanced proficiency in Java 11/17&#43;, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud. The OMS Microservices Developer is responsible for developing detailed design, testing, and deployment of Order Management Solutions (OMS) in accordance with approved Business Requirement Documents (BRD). Specific duties of the OMS Microservices Developer will include: Lead the development and optimization of microservices integrated with IBM Sterling OMS to support complex order lifecycle processes. Architect and implement enhancements to core OMS functionalities including sourcing rules, inventory management, and order orchestration workflows. Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and product teams to align technical solutions with strategic goals. Design integration flows between OMS and systems such as ERP, WMS, POS, CRM, and payment gateways using APIs and message queues (Kafka, MQ). Provide guidance on performance tuning, high availability configurations, and fault-tolerant service design. Review code, mentor junior developers, and enforce coding best practices and standards. Drive DevOps adoption, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and container-based deployments (Docker, Kubernetes). Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of high-quality, production-ready services. Develop accurate and efficient computer programs and processes. Work with Application Manager and business stakeholders to define requirements and functional/technical design for the improvement and replacement of systems and processes. Analyze existing program logic and design enhancements based on correction and modification requirements. Create special reports, data file extracts, and data conversion from existing databases. Consult with Application Manager and project stakeholders to resolve discrepancies. Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) Order Management Services (OMS) microservices and integrating OMS with external platforms using Kafka, IBM MQ, or similar messaging tools and resolving performance and integration issues in large-scale systems; (2) Using the following technologies: Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development; (3) Distributed systems, AP Gateways, and service orchestration; (4) OMS for retail industry including order-to-cash processes, supply chain, and real-time inventory visibility; and (5) Performance tuning, monitoring, and production support of large-scale systems.
