What you'll do:
Join Viasat Government - Secure Network Systems (SNS) as a full-stack software engineer in the developing networking and cyber security products for diverse customer based.  You will join a dynamic, multi-functional team that not only develop application but also designs, tests and supports their services. You will develop software to support seamless management of networking and cybersecurity products and emerging cryptographic solutions. This role will enable you to gain comprehensive experience in all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle, from initial design through to successful implementation and ongoing support. As an software engineer,  you’ll be a member of a agile team responsible for the manager applications for multiple product lines. You’ll be working with modern Web application development using the latest tools and technologies. 

The day-to-day:

What you'll need:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or similar field</li><li>A minimum 5 years of  professional experience with web application development using Java  or Kotlin </li><li>3-5 years of professional experience with Spring and/or Spring boot</li><li>Experience with using database technology such as PostgreSQL </li><li>Ability to travel up to 10%</li><li>Ability to obtain US Secret clearance</li></ul>

Salary range:

For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $174,000.00- $261,000.00/ annually

We’re looking for a motivated, collaborative, full stack developer with 3–6 years of industry experience to join the team responsible for building and deploying our platform and web/mobile applications used by thousands of customers. Our team is made up of engineers who are passionate about creating innovative solutions with modern technology and scalable architecture. As a member of this team, your expertise will shape best practices, design patterns, and technology choices, delivering value quickly and iteratively.
You will own meaningful parts of our product and infrastructure, mentor junior engineers, and have the opportunity to influence architecture while continuing to grow your technical depth.
Team/Department Overview: Product Engineering Team – Reporting to the Manager of Engineering. 
<h4>Key Responsibilities:</h4>
<ul>
<li aria-level="1">Design, build, test, and maintain web applications using Java, React, and TypeScript.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Develop APIs using RESTful and gRPC best practices, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Own features beyond initial release, including monitoring, debugging, and iterative improvements in production.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design and implement new features aligned with customer needs.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Write clean, well-documented, maintainable, and efficient code using modern frameworks and best practices.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Debug and troubleshoot issues across the full stack, including production support and root cause analysis.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Contribute to and help evolve our system architecture to improve scalability and maintainability.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Utilize SQL and relational database tools to manage and persist application state.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Make informed recommendations regarding the development of new code, refactoring of existing code, and integration of third-party/open-source frameworks.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback while fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.</li>

<li aria-level="1">Proficiency in Typescript, Javascript, and React (or similar front-end frameworks) for building scalable web applications.</li>
<li aria-level="1">Solid understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and SQL.</li>

<h4>Compensation</h4>
The expected range for this position is $150,000 - $176,000 per year. This reflects typical earning potential in this role based on market data and individual factors including skill sets, experience, and geographic location.
