The Role Dematic is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing customer service team. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide remote, second-level customer support along with working on bug fixes and customer requested enhancements or changes. The incumbent will work closely with customers, first-level technicians in the Customer Support area, and software project and technical engineers to resolve customer issues. The incumbent may participate in emergency situations requiring on-site support. You cultivate a positive culture, are performance oriented and encourage others to strive for high performance.</li></ul>What We Are Looking For:<ul><li>Assisting project and technical engineers in integration of new systems.</li><li>Assisting technical and development personnel in application quality testing.</li><li>Working on site to install, commission, and test installation of material handling solutions.</li><li>Providing specified technical support to customers on-site, when assigned.</li><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Material Handling background is a plus.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills.</li><li>The ability to troubleshoot server hardware, Ethernet networks, and other peripherals such as printers.</li><li>Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.</li><li>Ability to participate in an on-call rotation during non-business hours.</li><li>Flexible with working hours and working days.</li><li>Review Sales and Estimating Functional Specifications documentation.</li><li>Ability to implement project customizations and configurations per design.</li><li>Conduct quality testing and integration of updated systems.</li><li>Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution.</li><li>You will conduct training for customers and key users.</li><li>Continually work to identify improvements.</li><li>Understanding of software design principles and best practices</li><li>Practical experience with C and SQL programming</li><li>Practical programming experience in Java and related tools</li><li>Experience in Oracle and MS SQL databases</li><li>Experience delivering software systems in real-time environments</li><li>Proficiency in other programming languages a plus</li><li>General knowledge of database design and programming experience</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of Linux operating systems</li><li>General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming</li><li>Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail</li><li>Experience with version control systems (GIT and/or Mercurial)</li><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science or applicable Engineering discipline</li><li>2&#43; yrs of software engineering experience</li><li>Industrial automation industry experience (WMS or WCS) a plus</li></ul>
