We are seeking a motivated and curious Software Engineer Intern to join our Integration, Automation, and DevOps team within the Information Technology department. This role provides hands-on experience working on enterprise-grade systems that support critical business operations.
As an intern, you will contribute to real-world engineering initiatives such as modernizing .NET applications, enhancing application security, enabling API management in Azure, and improving system observability. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and architects, gaining exposure to modern software practices, cloud technologies, and operational excellence.

Requirement:

<li>Must be able to work onsite in the Springfield, Illinois office</li>
</ul>

Key Responsibilities (dependent on area of placement):
<ul>
<li>Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality and reliability</li>
<li>Document technical designs, configurations, and processes</li>
<li>Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver solutions</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field</li>
<li>Basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with at least one language (preferably C#/.NET, Java, or JavaScript)</li>
<li>Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts</li>
<li>Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Effective communication and willingness to learn in a team environment</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills:
<ul>
<li>Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git)</li>
<li>Exposure to .NET development (ASP.NET, Web APIs)</li>
<li>Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure</li>
<li>Basic understanding of REST APIs and web services</li>
<li>Awareness of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)</li>
</ul>
