POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Software Engineering Manager, the Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, support and maintenance of our custom-developed applications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing information systems by studying operations, designing, developing, installing and maintaining software solutions. The Lead Software Engineer prioritizes well, communicates clearly, and has a consistent track record of delivery and excellent software engineering skills. Must be able to work across multiple facets of the project and juggle multiple responsibilities at the same time. The Lead Software Engineer demonstrates analytic capability and the ability to create innovative solutions. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record building high quality mobile, web and cloud applications, APIs, and databases. The candidate must be creative, organized, and analytical as well as adept at working in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Designs, develops, and supports applications for desktop, web, and mobile to meet key business objectives.</li>
<li>Develops applications using C#, jQuery, JavaScript, Vue3/Prime Vue, CSS, HTML, Entity Framework, Flutter, and T-SQL.</li>
<li>Converts and maintains existing applications from VB.NET to C#.</li>
<li>Partners with management and peers in the development of best practices.</li>
<li>Provides technical direction, makes architectural decisions, and ensures the team is adhering to best practices and standards.</li>
<li>Mentors and guides a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive environment, and providing constructive feedback.</li>
<li>Performs code reviews ensuring all code is developed using best practices and optimally written.</li>
<li>Gathers business requirements and develops conceptual and technical designs for multiple projects concurrently.</li>
<li>Managing the software development lifecycle, creating and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and identifying and resolving potential roadblocks.</li>
<li>Understands Git and Azure DevOps for code management and deployment.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots, debugs, upgrades, and improves the performance of existing software.</li>
<li>Documents processes of all projects to ensure future review and understanding.</li>
<li>Documents and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.</li>
<li>Implementing robust security measures within software applications.</li>
<li>Collaborates with the broader team to brainstorm and create new products.</li>
<li>Stays on the leading edge of development practices.</li>
<li>Makes suggestions for improvements in keeping up to date with the industry, security best practices, design patterns and technological solutions.</li>
<li>Maintains job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.</li>
<li>Assesses the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.</li>
<li>Works full-time on site, five (5) days per week.</li>
<li>Provides after hours support when required.</li>
<li>Performs other job duties as assigned by the Manager.</li>

COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science/related field or equivalent experience.</li>
<li>Over 10 years of experience developing web applications utilizing C#, jQuery, JavaScript, Vue3/Prime Vue, CSS, HTML, Entity Framework, and T-SQL.</li>
<li>Over 10 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of RESTful services, object-oriented design and SQL databases.</li>
<li>Expertise with Git and Azure DevOps for code management and deployment.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of mobile application development (Apple and Android).</li>
<li>Solid understanding and experience in SQL Server programming, SSRS and SSIS.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive deadlines.</li>
<li>Ability to troubleshoot, debug, upgrade, and improve the performance of existing software.</li>
<li>Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies.</li>
<li>Ability to work with peers in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Ability to motivate and guide a team, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.</li>
<li>Ability to plan, track, and manage projects, and identify and resolve potential roadblocks.</li>

Pay Range: $130,000 - $155,000
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing ERP applications, web applications, integrating systems, and implementing solutions that enhance usability, accessibility, and functionality. The Senior Programmer Analyst, Enterprise Applications collaborates with multiple departments to ensure ERP and websites align with university branding, security, and technology standards




Minimum Qualifications
Education: ● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field. Preferred proficiency with: XHTML, JavaScript (including SPA frameworks), and CSS; database administration and design with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle; object-oriented PHP and C# programming in conjunction with database SQL programming; ASP.NET Web API; XML programming; working knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress (including custom theme/plugin development), Drupal, or Omni CMS; WCAG accessibility standards; MAMP/LAMP, Apache; Internet browser developer tools; current versions of Microsoft Active Directory 
Experience: One year of professional experience in web development, website management, or a related field. Experience working in a technical field.
