MDA Ground Tests are critical in evaluating the performance of our nation’s defense systems through a variety of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and simulation-based tests.As part of our software development team, you will collaborate closely with engineers and software developers to maintain .NET Framework web applications, design and code new .NET Core web applications, and maintain existing and design and code new .NET Core Web Services that support the scenario design process. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Maintain ASP.NET Core Web Services that implement mathematical models of sensors and weapons systems.</li><li>Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications and web services used in the MDS Ground Test scenario design process.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and developers to enhance and modernize tools and processes.</li><li>Participate in requirements gathering and interface directly with end-users to understand their needs and design solutions.</li><li>Perform full-stack development tasks including working with SQL databases, back-end services, and front-end UI components.</li><li>Apply best practices for software development, focusing on quality, scalability, and maintainability.</li><li>Ensure timely completion of tasks with a focus on excellence, even within tight deadlines.</li><li>Contribute to team knowledge and innovation by bringing new ideas and solutions to the table.</li><li>Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Active SECRET clearance required</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.</li><li>7-10 years of experience with full-stack development, including front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core) and back-end development (C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core) with demonstrated ability to work on large-scale projects.</li><li>Familiarity with web service development</li><li>Ability to work with advanced math and physics, particularly vector mathematics</li><li>Willingness to learn FORTRAN (that code is being replaced but we still need to reference it when issues arise)</li><li>Proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing SQL database structures and queries.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with end-users and technical teams to understand and meet user requirements.</li><li>Highly motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering quality work within deadlines.</li></ul>Desired Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience with Agile development methodologies.</li><li>Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and best practices.</li><li>Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry is a plus, though not required.</li><li>Passion for working on mission-critical applications in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>This is a pipeline requisition posted in advance of approved headcount for future hiring needs.Note: Our team is always interested in speaking with exceptional candidates though please note this is a Pipeline posting with more of an eye towards our future needs rather than necessarily being an immediate hire.  Only qualified candidates will be contacted.ITAR Requirement:This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
