Software Developer – Full Stack & Embedded Systems

Phase Technologies is seeking a software developer to contribute to both our internal business systems and our growing IoT product line. You'll work across PhaseOps (our internal React/Node/MongoDB/PostgreSQL platform) and Phase Connect (our industrial telemetry and connectivity product).
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Develop and maintain features in PhaseOps, our internal full-stack web platform used across sales, operations, and support.</li>
<li>Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in Node.js backed by MongoDB and PostgreSQL.</li>
<li>Contribute to Phase Connect, our industrial IoT product — depending on where the product needs the most support, this means either mobile app development or embedded firmware development.</li>
<li>Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.</li>
<li>Collaborate with operations, sales, and engineering teams to define and deliver features.</li>
<li>Help bridge data between field devices and internal business systems.</li>
</ul>
 
Required Skills & Experience
<ul>
<li>Full-stack JavaScript — React on the frontend, Node.js on the backend.</li>
<li>Database experience — MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL.</li>
<li>REST API design and integration — building, consuming, and debugging.</li>
<li>Version control — Git, including branching and pull request workflows.</li>
<li>Embedded or low-level development experience — prior work in device firmware (C/C++) or kernel-level development is a real advantage. Willingness to develop in areas outside your primary background is expected.</li>
<li>2+ years of practical development experience.</li>
</ul>
Nice to Have
<ul>
<li>Cross-platform mobile app development</li>
<li>Embedded or kernel-level C/C++ development</li>
<li>Familiarity with some or all of: BLE, MQTT, binary protocol design, Modbus, serial communication, low-bandwidth cellular</li>
<li>Industrial or manufacturing software background</li>
</ul>
