Responsibilities:
Hamilton Medical, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2 who will improve existing operations and develop new manufacturing processes in the pursuit of reducing product cost, increasing quality and process yield, and improving the reliability and stability of our processes by using their prior experience working with quality control systems, preferably in electronics or medical devices, to guide their decision making and ensure that compliance with government regulations is maintained. This role is expected to take on challenging and impactful problems that affect profitability of the business, our ability to supply product, and overall customer satisfaction of the final product. Achieving this requires collaboration with entry level engineers and multiple teams (Sales, Production, Warehouse, Materials, Quality, partner companies) while receiving broad exposure to different areas of the business. A strong candidate is efficient at problem solving, appropriately challenges the requirements, creates simple solutions, shares knowledge, and is a positive force for progress. Responsiblites include but are not limited too:<ul><li>Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes or process improvements by gathering KPI and metric data for production processes, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors, and soliciting observations from manufacturing technicians.</li><li>Trains and guides manufacturing technicians in process improvements and requirements.</li><li>Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and assisting QA and Purchasing with qualifying new vendors.</li><li>Investigates root cause of nonconformances to design or process specifications, develops and implements corrective actions</li><li>Responsible for drafting production process instructions, qualification documents, and other documents required for assigned production line, and for maintaining the BOMs, Routes, and other D365 engineering controlled settings for assigned production lines.</li><li>Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods for testing finished product, raw material, and process capabilities, and establishing manufacturing standards for manufacturing processes. </li><li>Performs Risk Analysis and Mitigation including identifying critical risks and mitigating them.</li><li>Drafts and executes verifications and validations for production processes and equipment.</li><li>Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.</li><li>Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.</li><li>Provides technical information support by answering questions and technical support be fulfilling requests for assistance.</li><li>Provides hands on technical support for manufacturing process and equipment, as required. </li><li>Project management including scoping, planning, and executing projects, including coordinating activities and task monitoring.</li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Independently uses first-principles thinking. Shows creative problem solving when presented with challenges but may require occasional help.</li><li>Shows initiative in pursuing assigned tasks and requires no prompting to complete tasks.</li><li>Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly principles </li><li>Ability to recognize abnormalities in production/process metrics and respond </li><li>Capable of working with external suppliers as needed to resolve in-house problems (e.g. supplier quality issues) </li><li>Proficient problem solver familiar with root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) and investigation including determining, analyzing, or researching the root cause of an identified problem</li><li>Excellent communication and documentation skills</li><li>Demonstrated willingness to support projects or production lines during challenging schedules</li></ul>

Education/Experience:
<ul><li>5 plus years technical experience in manufacturing</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related Engineering Discipline including Industrial, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering required</li><li>Proficient in change management systems (ECO processes), and document control</li><li>Proficient in using data analysis programs and Microsoft Suite, experience with VBA, C++, G-CODE, JavaScript, or similar programming preferred</li><li>1 plus year Experience using CAD (computer-aided design) software<ul><li>Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi) and familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.) preferred</li><li>Experience with robotics, automated assembly equipment, or CNC machinery, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting, preferred. </li></ul></li></ul>
