Job Summary:  
The Gateway Engineering and Support Engineer role provides advanced technical leadership and operational support for Globalstar’s Gateway Systems. This role interfaces across engineering, reliability, and operations teams to diagnose, resolve, and prevent system incidents – ensuring maximum system uptime and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
This role also serves as the designated Payload Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) within operations. They will provide technical ownership, lifecycle oversight, and performance accountability for assigned payload hardware.

Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Support monitoring and analysis of Gateway and Payload system performance</li>
<li>Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of operational incidents and service interruptions</li>
<li>Work with engineering, reliability, and operations teams to analyze operational data and identify performance improvements</li>
<li>Support installation, integration, testing, and verification of new Payload systems</li>
<li>Help maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational guides</li>
<li>Lead in proactive system performance tracking and reporting for Payload systems</li>
<li>Assist with software validation and product testing activities</li>
<li>Lead root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations</li>
<li>Participate in cross-training initiatives and technical knowledge sharing</li>
<li>Support a shared on-call rotation as experience and training progress</li>
</ul>
Skills and Competencies:

<li>Familiarity with RF Test equipment</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment</li>

Preferred Qualifications:

<li>Experience in RF, satellite communications, aerospace, or telecommunications</li>
<li>Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems</li>
<li>Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel, or similar)</li>
<li>Knowledge of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) or FPGA concepts</li>
</ul>
