What you will be responsible for:

The objective of this position is to lead and conduct damage analysis investigations. This role collaborates closely with engineers, specialists, Quality, Operations, Engineering, and project leaders to ensure investigations are completed promptly and aligned with the priorities of the Business Units and Technology teams. Additionally, this position supports laboratory leadership by maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment while coordinating with team members to ensure proper equipment upkeep.
 
 
Essential Responsibilities:

<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Conduct damage analysis investigations for internal and external customers by collecting samples, assembling background information, developing investigation plans, adjusting scope as needed, scheduling and conducting appropriate tests, and communicating progress with stakeholders.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Analyze test results by organizing data, integrating research, calculations, and assumptions, and collaborating with subject-matter experts to determine probable root causes using historical and comparative data.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Collaborate with customers and Timken associates to recommend corrective actions, present investigation find-ings, support solution discussions, and prepare clear, accurate final written reports.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Lead and assist Materials focused R&amp;D projects. Applying programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to sup-port data‑driven experimental design is a plus.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Maintain responsibility for critical laboratory equipment, including calibration and preventive maintenance of mi-croscopes, hardness testers, thermocouples, and tensile testing etc.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve laboratory productivity.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Support laboratory stewardship by completing assigned 5S audits, maintaining a clean and safe work environ-ment, ensuring proper equipment operation, and managing safe storage of chemicals and fluids.</li>

Considine Research Institute at Akron Children’s. This graduate‑level internship offers hands‑on experience applying biostatistical methods to real‑world healthcare research under the mentorship of biostatisticians and research methodologists. The role supports multiple active studies and exposes the intern to diverse study designs, data types, and clinical domains. Responsibilities: 1. Assist research teams with the development of statistical analysis plans, including definition of endpoints, analysis populations, and analytic methods. 2. Conduct power and sample size calculations for proposed and ongoing research studies. 3. Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using R and/or Python, including regression modeling, survival analysis, and mixed‑effects models as appropriate to study design 4. Prepare statistical tables, figures, and summaries for abstracts, reports, and manuscript submissions. 5. Support data quality review and collaborate with the Research Methods &amp; Data Science team to ensure datasets meet protocol and analysis requirements. 6.
