The candidate will join the Centre at a dynamic period of growth and contribute to research on misinformation, disinformation, and the evolving media ecosystem, with particular attention to the Quebec information environment and Canadian elections.</p><p>The successful applicant will:</p><p>- Be an excellent communicator and writer, capable of distilling complex research findings into clear, accessible language for policy-makers, journalists, and the public;<br />- Have strong familiarity with the Canadian political landscape, including election processes, media regulation, and digital policy;<br />- Have knowledge of the Quebec information environment, including its distinct media ecosystem, political dynamics, and public discourse;<br />- Be a fast learner, comfortable working across multiple research projects and adapting to new tools, methods, and subject areas;<br />- Have experience working with digital trace data, survey data, or other quantitative and qualitative research methods;<br />- Have working knowledge of Python, R, or other applicable programming languages;<br />- Be fluent in French (spoken and written)</p><p></p><p>The successful applicant may also:</p><p>- Have experience with data collection from social media platforms or online survey panels;<br />- Have familiarity with the academic publishing process;<br />- Have experience communicating research to non-academic audiences, including through policy briefs, media appearances, or public presentations;<br />- Have experience with SQL, data visualization tools, or web scraping</p><p></p><p>Specific Duties:</p><p>Under the direction of the Observatory and Centre leadership, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the following duties: - Contribute to original research on misinformation, disinformation, and the information ecosystem in Canada, with emphasis on the Quebec context; - Assist in the collection, management, and analysis of digital trace and survey data; - Support the production of policy briefs, reports, and other research outputs for diverse audiences; - Monitor and analyze developments in the Canadian and Quebec information environments, including during election periods;
