Plan and design the construction, modification, fabrication, installation and document/perform maintenance procedures of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or civil engineering devices, structures, systems and/or research projects of moderate complexity. Oversee, troubleshoot, manage, and document field monitoring activities related to the Iowa Flood Center and IIHR. Develop project proposals, budgets, and schedules for external clients and stakeholders.&nbsp;</span></span></p><p><span><span><strong>The College of Engineering and IIHR intend to hire a Design Engineer (Req #26002134) or Engineer (Req #26002137) based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.&nbsp;</strong></span></span></p><p><span><span>This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.</span></span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Specific Job Duties and Tasks:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Review and assess information, organize the analytic process, develop and write progress and project reports for multiple projects.</span></li><li><span>Develop technical procedures and associated documentation. Independently troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise in equipment maintenance.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Responsible for projects at the departmental level that may have a lasting impact at the organizational level. Coordinate and complete tasks in accordance with design specs and standards with minimal guidance. Schedule tasks and set milestones for the most efficient completion of projects. &nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Oversee construction, installation, and design changes of experimental equipment such as rain gauge systems, stream gauge systems. Identify and adhere to Quality Assurance practices to maintain validity and integrity of research data.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Manage, review and evaluate ongoing and completed work to determine if it meets all relevant specifications and regulations. Communicate with customer to verify finished product meets customer expectations and industry standards. &nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Examine data collected from field instrumentation to insure proper operation.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Plan and develop project scope, budget, and schedule as needs arise. &nbsp;Prioritize concurrent project work to ensure expectations are met and deadlines are maintained. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Apply engineering principles and the scientific method to solve technical issues.</span></li><li><span>Test and maintain sensor equipment, troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment failures including sensors, modems, power supplies, data loggers, and other infrastructure. <p>We are seeking a <strong>Psychometrician I </strong>to help us fulfill that mission.</p>

<p><strong>Location: </strong>Remote</p>

<p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.</p>

<p>The finalist will be hired at the salary and level commensurate with their qualifications. <strong>For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $90,000.</strong> ACT manages salaries within this range based on relevant factors, including skills, experience, and internal equity. This position is not incentive-eligible.</p>

<p>ACT Education Corp. seeks a <strong>Psychometrician I</strong> - Under guidance of senior staff, lead the planning and execution of qualitative and quantitative analyses in support of ACT products and services and conduct, interpret, and present the results of scaling, equating, calibration, and other psychometric and research studies for ACT products and services. Support solutions for products as well as research, design and development of next generation assessments that facilitate adaptability and personalization by leveraging digital technologies, new measurement models and digital data sources. Provide psychometric support, including test construction, field test design and item analysis, equating design and analysis, and score comparability research. Prepare technical and/or interpretive materials and create and maintain technical specifications and documentation for psychometric processes and procedures related assessment programs. Increase visibility of ACT research through contributions to staff publications, presentations, and presence across relevant national and international research communities. </p>

<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong> Doctoral degree in Psychometrics, Educational Measurement, Psychometric Foundations, Psychological Measurement, Psychological and Quantitative Foundations, or a closely related field with one year of experience in large-scale educational assessment psychometric research or operational analysis, acquired through projects, internships, and/or on-the-job experience, that includes experience with computer programming in R, SAS, or Python and with IRT software packages (Bilog, FlexMIRT, Winsteps, etc.), a solid conceptual and practical understanding of psychometrics, and participating on cross-functional teams.</p>
