PURPOSE OF POSITION:
 Test Engineer will be expected to drive test process efficiency improvements reducing Time-to-Fail and overall test time while maintaining integrity of test and quality of product shipped. Support the launch of new products at QMN.  Work closely with the end customers, corporate R&D, Test Development, and Manufacturing teams to analyze test data, troubleshoot, and identify product defects, verify fixes and document test results. Communicate product readiness, level of quality, and results to project team.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li class="MsoNormal"> Develops and maintains automated test processes to enhance and insure the reliability and quality of new and existing products</li><li class="MsoNormal">Performs results analysis, root cause identification, and reporting </li><li class="MsoNormal">Analyzes failure reports and makes recommendations to improve product reliability and quality, and quality assurance processes, practices and procedures</li><li class="MsoNormal">Works independently and within engineering practices to maintain, modify, and enhance existing quality methods & processes </li><li class="MsoNormal">Makes good technical decisions and completes tasks & assignments under only general direction </li><li class="MsoNormal">Recognize problems that need further investigation, seek assistance when needed, demonstrate initiative and self-motivation</li><li class="MsoNormal">Independently determine and develop approach to solutions, under only very general direction</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provide solutions for wide range of difficult problems</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ensure common test tool set is developed for use in manufacturing and service</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provide leadership for all tests and diagnostics used in product engineering, manufacturing, returned material repair and supplier quality</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Develop, implement and support test processes for the production of a variety of products including servers, switches and storage devices</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Develop techniques to troubleshoot failing systems as quickly and efficiently as possible</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Create work instructions and update online documentation for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing CCBU products assembled at QMN</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Train production technicians to test, troubleshoot and repair CCBU products manufactured at QMN. This will entail managing several test projects simultaneously. </li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:-0.25in">·         Engineering Failure Analysis on product issues identified in field</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:-0.25in">·         Assist with reporting test data to management as required</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:-0.25in">·         Set up/maintain the Test Servers and Network in conjunction with IT group </li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:-0.25in">·         Create basic test files as necessary (such as cable files and hardware lists) for new models</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline, or alternatively 2 years of experience in Software Development.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Must have demonstrable skills and the ability to discuss, in depth, the technical aspects of project experience</li><li class="MsoNormal">A proven track record of high productivity in test programming and debugging </li></ul>
 
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
<ul><li class="MsoNormal"> Exposure to Python scripting and Linux shell scripts</li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with server architecture including: hardware, firmware and drivers</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with network technologies and protocols, switches, routers etc.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with PXE boot process, Automated Test Network, and OS download </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience, and solid understanding of the hardware product development lifecycle, software development methodologies, change management, release management, configuration management</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with client / server environments </li></ul>
