Introduction
Seldovia Village Tribe is seeking a highly organized individual to join our Human Resources team.  Your role as an Human Resources Assistant is to support the Human Resources Department by providing administrative and clerical functions, support in recruitment efforts, and serve as an in-person and online resource to prospective, current and past employees of Seldovia Village Tribe.
 
This role is ideal for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of Human Resources particularly for Tribal employers and healthcare. 
 
Position Overview
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will perform tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources Department.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Routinely answer calls, e-mails, and mail</li>
<li>Completes administrative requests from outside entities such as (but not limited to) employment verifications, unemployment insurance claims/audits, employment letters, student loan repayment forms, and salary surveys.</li>
<li>Complete requests and reports for internal needs such as (but not limited to) CQI reports, recruitment updates for staff meetings, employee paperwork, I-9 verifications, and payroll needs</li>
<li>Draft, update, or review HR related documents such as (but not limited to) job descriptions, payroll forms, and policies/procedures.</li>
<li>Maintain organized records digitally and hardcopy in accordance with best practices and SVT Policies</li>
<li>Post job advertisements as instructed by HR Director</li>
<li>Schedule and conduct phone screens and interviews with hiring teams in accordance with HR Department practices</li>
<li>Maintain thorough, accurate, and current HRIS records, files, templates, and job postings.</li>
<li>Schedule and facilitate all new hire orientation schedules across all included personnel</li>
<li>Provide complete and smooth onboarding of new staff on behalf of HR Department</li>
<li>Collect new hire forms and distribute to appropriate departments and file locations</li>
<li>Support the timely completion of employee evaluations through tracking, notification and reminders to SVT employees and supervisors.</li>
<li>Responsible for supporting the credentialing process of medical providers and maintaining records, both for onboarding and renewals.</li>
<li>Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.</li>
<li>Maintain and update HR information on SharePoint and/or policy software. Manage and post files, forms, policies, calendars, and all other materials kept on the intranet and communicate information on intranet/server access to all employees.</li>
<li>Support other Administrative staff members in arranging travel for potential candidates, locum providers, and other recruitment related travel efforts.</li>
<li>Schedule drug test appointments in accordance with policies</li>
<li>Fingerprinting of potential/new employees</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

Requirements:
<ul>
<li>HS Diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>At least 1 year of experience in an administrative function</li>
<li>No licenses or certifications required</li>
<li>Travel between Homer, Seldovia, and Anchor Point very occasionally and not required for normal work duties.  Travel may be by car, boat, or plane.</li>

This position is based in Homer with travel to Seldovia as needed.
 
This position is responsible for keeping the interior and exterior areas of SVT Health & Wellness buildings in clean and safe condition. 
 
Hours: Evening shift, 4pm to midnight with a one hour lunch, M-F, 35 hours per week
 
Salary Range: Starting at $18 per hour, depending on experience
 
Type of Employment: In-person, not a remote position
 
What You'll Do: 
<ul>
<li>Sanitize/disinfect all common surfaces such as handrails, door handles, public use computers and equipment, bathrooms and kitchen surfaces.</li>
<li>Empties and sanitizes trash containers. Picks up and disposes trash from around the buildings and parking areas.</li>
<li>Maintains carpets, tile, linoleum flooring according to manufacturer’s specifications.  </li>
<li>Washes windows, walls, ceilings woodwork, door panels and sills (interior and exterior) as needed.  </li>
<li>Dusts furniture, blinds, counters, desks and fixtures.  </li>
<li>Clean all appliances and fixtures in kitchens and bathrooms.</li>
<li>Replenish all paper holder and soap dispensers.  </li>
<li>Assists with periodic or seasonal cleaning tasks as outlined by the Facilities Manager.</li>
<li>Assure use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and understands the principles of universal precautions to protect self and others from the spread of disease and blood borne pathogens.</li>
<li>Keep exterior doorways and sidewalks clear of rocks or debris. Coordinate with Facilities Manager for maintenance of snow removal and application of deicer at outside doorways and sidewalk areas in winter months. </li>
<li>Assists in set up and storage of office equipment and furniture.</li>
<li>Assures buildings are locked, un-occupied and security system is armed at the end of shift.</li>
<li>Immediately report safety hazards or concerns to the Facilities Manager.</li>
<li>Replace batteries as needed and coordinate time of all clocks as necessary in all exam rooms and public reception areas.  </li>
<li>Maintains strict confidentiality of all SVT and SVTHW information. Adheres to HIPAA, ICWA, CLIA, and OSHA guidelines. </li>
<li>Conducts cleaning activities in a manner that does not affect the patient/client care or other private or public activities scheduled at SVT Health & Wellness.  </li>
<li>Occasionally ensures that locum/itinerant staffing apartment is cleaned after each use and bedding changed and washed; performs deep clean of leased apartment between occupants. </li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by SVTHW Director or Facilities Manager. </li>
<li>Be able to travel as needed to other communities including to and from Homer / Seldovia by small airplane and sometimes by boat when airplanes are on weather hold. Travel is a day trip, but inclement weather may require an overnight stay. SVT provides lodging and meal stipend for overnight stay due to weather.</li>
