This role acts as the field‑based extension of the project engineering, construction, and HSSE organizations - ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of work.The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong project management skills, construction management acumen, practical technical awareness, and the ability to interface effectively with contractors, vendors, engineers, and site operations. This role requires autonomy, clear communication, and consistent field presence to ensure scope adherence, HSSE compliance, and high-quality work delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management and Field Support<ul><li>Lead the development and execution of minor capital improvement projects, including overseeing minor engineering scopes as well as field execution and construction activities.</li><li>In support of other Houston-based project managers, responsible for the following field technical verification tasks for all capital improvements:<ul><li>Take field measurements to verify equipment fit (valves, instruments, piping, etc.) prior to installation.</li><li>Validate installations against drawings and specifications; escalate discrepancies to engineering.</li><li>Track the delivery, condition, and storage of materials for capital projects arriving onsite. Verify that equipment received matches purchase orders and engineering specifications. Coordinate with supply chain and project engineers to address missing or damaged materials.</li><li>Support troubleshooting or technical clarification requests from contractors.</li></ul></li></ul>Field Construction Oversight<ul><li>Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities across multiple RNG sites. Serve as the primary field interface for construction contractors and specialty vendors.</li><li>Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and work quality. Ensure contractor compliance with work scopes, procedures, and permit requirements.</li></ul><ul><li>Walk jobs with construction contractors to review work practices, validate understanding of scope, and ensure installation quality.</li><li>Provide real-time field feedback to project engineers regarding constructability, design issues, and site conditions.</li><li>Support punchlist development, execution, and closeout.</li></ul>HSSE Leadership<ul><li>Act as the field-level HSSE representative, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory safety requirements. Help maintain a strong safety culture across all onsite activities.</li><li>Coach contractors on safe work practices; stop unsafe work when required.</li><li>Conduct field inspections and support field-level permitting and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Ensure contractors understand and comply with all required permits. Facilitate field execution of MOCs by validating scope impacts, confirming that changes are documented, and ensuring that all required approvals are in place before work proceeds.</li></ul>Project Interface &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Provide weekly updates to project engineers and project managers on field progress, risks, and issues.</li><li>Document field activities, deviations, and lessons learned.</li><li>Support commissioning and startup activities as required.</li></ul>Qualifications:Experience<ul><li>Minimum 15 years in project management, construction management, or similar field-based roles in an operating asset within industrial, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or related sectors.</li><li>Experience working in operating environments involving mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation installations.</li><li>Experience working with contractors and managing field HSSE expectations.</li></ul>Education<ul><li>Degree or technical certification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>Strong project management capability, including planning, prioritizing, and coordinating field activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field execution practices, and industrial safety requirements.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (P&amp;IDs, isometrics, electrical schematics, civil/structural drawings). Ability to lead minor engineering scopes for small capital improvement projects.</li><li>Solid contractor management skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, monitor performance, and drive accountability for safety, quality, and schedule. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction project schedules that ensure successful, on-time delivery of complex projects. This role requires a strong grasp of construction sequencing, collaboration across teams, and proactive risk mitigation.
The role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to align timelines, track progress, and adjust schedules as needed. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who thrives in a dynamic environment and understands the strategic impact of accurate scheduling on overall project success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PROJECT SCHEDULE DEVELOPMENT
Build and maintain construction project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or other scheduling tools.
STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION
Coordinate with project teams, field staff, and subcontractors to gather input and validate scheduling assumptions.
PROGRESS TRACKING
Monitor ongoing project activity, compare actual progress against the baseline schedule, and identify variances.
SCHEDULE ANALYSIS & UPDATES
Conduct regular updates, look-ahead reviews, and impact assessments. Recommend corrective actions for delays or risks.
CRITICAL PATH & RISK ANALYSIS
Analyze the critical path and float to determine the effect of changes and inform strategic decision-making.
REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION
Prepare schedule status reports, progress summaries, and documentation of schedule changes and delays.
SUBCONTRACTOR COORDINATION
Confirm that subcontractor timelines and deliverables align with the overall project schedule.
ISSUE RESOLUTION
Flag potential scheduling issues early and collaborate with team members to develop mitigation plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction scheduling, ideally in large-scale or mission critical environments.
Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of construction phases, sequencing, and resource planning.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Effective communicator and collaborator across field and office roles.
An ability to anticipate challenges and develop contingency plans.
