Learn more: https://www.stmarysregional.com What You’ll Do As a Sterile Processing Technician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe surgical environment through proper instrument reprocessing and workflow support. Responsibilities include: Performing Level 1 reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and loaner tray processing. Maintaining accurate records, prioritizing workflow, and making minor decisions during after‑hours and weekend shifts. Demonstrating knowledge of surgical supplies and instrumentation. Performing technical tasks in decontamination, preparation, and sterile holding. Assembling scheduled and emergency case carts with accuracy and attention to detail. Providing some oversight and support to Level 1 technicians. Attending at least 75% of department staff meetings and reviewing minutes for all others. Completing all mandatory in‑services and documenting 10 additional educational hours annually. Participating in on‑call rotation as assigned. The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and adjusting blow molding machines to produce high-quality plastic products according to specifications. The position ensures production runs meet customer requirements, safety standards, and company performance goals.

Summary of Job Duties

<ul style="margin-bottom:11px">
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Follow work order instructions and production schedules.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Properly clean and prepare blow mold machines for new product runs, including loading programming and verifying settings when machine or tooling adjustments are conducted.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Calibrate programmer and &ldquo;zero out&rdquo; the machine to ensure accurate machine performance and measurements.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">During the set-up process, will change or reset the mold.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Identify raw material requirements and coordinate with appropriate departments to load material.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Check material levels (color, regrind, and resin) throughout the shift, at each machine, against the work order; adjusting as needed.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Operate a forklift to transport and maintain appropriate material levels for shift production runs.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Troubleshoot production issues using root cause analysis and make necessary advanced machine and tooling adjustments to maintain production while meeting quality specifications.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-left:8px">Monitor and maintain cycle times, product weight, and regrind percentages.</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify; margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Clear grinders, fill heads, and perform shift-change checks.</li>

Work Environment

This job will be performed in production and warehouse buildings, requiring exposure to varying weather conditions and operating in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled. <a name="_Hlk207019614">Moderate to loud noise levels that require associates to wear hearing protection. </a>This position may require work above or below ground level and in confined spaces. This position will routinely work on and around industrial equipment and systems including, blow molding machinery, CNC machinery, motors, motor control centers, emergency generators, water coolers, air compressors, grinders, hand tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, bending, stooping, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching above the head, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. Ability to use tools and other industrial equipment. <a name="_Hlk206744129">Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</a>
