About this Role:
Cost Specialist Project Location:  Eagle Mountain, UT (75% Onsite) <a href="https://quantaisg.com/" target="_blank" title="Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group" rel="noopener">QISG</a> has an immediate need for a Cost Specialist to support a simple-cycle power generation project designed to power a data center. This is a construction-only project located in Eagle Mountain, Utah, and the selected candidate will be required to be onsite approximately 75% of the time. The project is a 286MW simple-cycle power generation facility with an approximate duration of 22 months and ~$250M in revenue. While prior simple-cycle power generation experience is highly preferred, it is not required. Strong utility, EPC, or heavy industrial construction cost control experience is required.  Start Date: ASAPThis is not a contract position — it is a full-time, permanent role with QISG. Upon completion of this project, the individual will transition directly onto another active project within the organization. <hr data-start="783" data-end="786" /><h3 data-start="788" data-end="808">About the Role</h3>At <a href="https://quantaisg.com/" target="_blank" title="Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group" rel="noopener">QISG</a>, we design and build complex renewable infrastructure, with a strong focus on projects that power communities and strengthen the modern grid. As a Cost Specialist, you will drive cost control and financial performance across large, multi-year utility capital projects, supporting T&D, substation, and power generation work from early execution through closeout. This role is ideal for a project-based cost professional with deep experience in job costing, forecasting, and change management within utilities, EPC, power generation, or heavy commercial construction environments. You will partner closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost visibility, manage financial risk, and support data-driven decision-making across complex grid infrastructure programs.  

What You'll Do:
<ul><li data-start="0" data-end="130">Track and control costs across EPC utility projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction</li><li data-start="131" data-end="219">Manage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends on multi-year capital programs</li><li data-start="220" data-end="299">Develop and maintain EACs and ETCs to ensure accurate financial projections</li><li data-start="300" data-end="384">Identify cost variances and risks early, escalating issues to project leadership</li><li data-start="385" data-end="477">Support change management, including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impacts</li><li data-start="478" data-end="585">Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align financials with execution plans</li><li data-start="586" data-end="675">Deliver clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders</li><li data-start="676" data-end="757">Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards</li><li data-start="758" data-end="848">Leverage JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting</li><li data-start="849" data-end="938" data-is-last-node="">Act as a trusted cost advisor, driving continuous improvement in cost control practices</li></ul>

What You'll Bring:
<ul><li data-start="0" data-end="146">7-10 years of project cost control or project controls experience within EPC and renewables environments</li><li data-start="147" data-end="264">Strong hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis</li><li data-start="265" data-end="361">Experience in project-based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)</li><li data-start="362" data-end="450">Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferred</li><li data-start="451" data-end="548">Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadership</li><li data-start="549" data-end="674">Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li data-start="675" data-end="721" data-is-last-node="">Willingness to be on project site 75% of time for a 22 month long project  - This is a full time hire, not contract, elgible for full benefits. </li><li data-start="675" data-end="721" data-is-last-node="">Assistance with lodging in Eagle Mountain, UT offered if not already residing in the area. </li></ul>
