This position will be based out of our Detroit, MI location.<br><br><br>The successful Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer is one that is conscientious, detail orientated, and a self-starter able to work from a verbal or written instruction. They are committed to quality, precision, and timeliness in their deliverables. These deliverables are achieved while maintaining a safe and organized working environment<p></p><p><b>Job Description:</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Utilize CMM using Zeiss Calypso ​software and inspection equipment i.e., height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, surface analyzer, etc. to measure/layout complex components to engineering requirements.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Utilize NX to create 3d models of CMM fixtures.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Write CMM programs and using CAD models and/​or blueprints to measure complex components to verify conformance to engineering specifications and standards.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Interpret and understand complex technical documentation such as blueprints and specifications.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Perform and certify inspections &amp; tests in accordance with technical documentation.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Maintain inspection documentation (written, electronic and photographic).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong level of <span>interpersonal/communication</span> skills to work effectively with management, engineering, suppliers, and customers.</span></p></li><li><p><span>High level of problem-solving skills to identify/perform root cause analysis on machining issues and offer recommendations for resolution.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Successfully complete measurements and tasks on time to aggressive schedules.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Able to manually lift and manipulate heavy objects </span><span>(Up to 35 lbs).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to use lift assist devices for heavier objects.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Comply with all AAM safety policies and procedures.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Available to work overtime if required. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Travel may be required to assist the machining team in other locations.
