<h2>Position Summary</h2>Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 to support the VISTA (Inference Processing Team). This role develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The Software Engineer works independently or as part of a team to design, code, test, debug, integrate, and improve software solutions based on documented requirements.<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.</li><li>Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.</li><li>Debug existing software and correct defects.</li><li>Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.</li><li>Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.</li><li>Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.</li><li>Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.</li><li>Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.</li><li>Write or review software and system documentation.</li><li>Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.</li><li>Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.</li><li>Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.</li><li>Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.</li><li>Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries.</li><li>Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.</li><li>Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints.</li><li>Perform quality control on team products.</li><li>Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.</li><li>Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.</li><li>Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.</li><li>Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.</li><li>AI/ML development or integration experience.</li><li>Experience with Terraform and AWS.</li><li>Experience with C++, Python, and/or Golang.</li><li>Experience writing high-performance, GPU-enabled applications.</li><li>Experience with large-scale streaming data analytic systems.</li></ul><h2>Required Education and Experience Equivalency</h2><figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><td>Education</td><td>Years of Experience</td></tr><tr><td>High School Diploma/GED</td><td>18</td></tr><tr><td>Associates Degree</td><td>18</td></tr><tr><td>Bachelors’ Degree</td><td>14</td></tr><tr><td>Masters’ Degree</td><td>14</td></tr><tr><td>PhD</td><td>14</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><h2>Required Certifications</h2><ul><li>None specified.</li></ul><h2>Required Security Clearance</h2><ul><li>Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.</li></ul>

You Have: 
Experience developing software using Python or Java
Experience in data modeling, including normalization of data and working with metrics
Experience developing and maintaining web-based server applications and implementing algorithms that interface with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
Experience developing task automation using AWS API
Experience with periodic or streaming data
Experience with Linux and shell scripting
Ability to design, develop, and implement data processing workflows
Ability to develop and optimize data structures within and between routines and for data storage and retrieval using JSON, YAML, or NoSQL Databases
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science field and 14+ years of experience with software engineering in a Linux environment, or 18+ years of experience with software engineering in a Linux environment in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have: 
Experience with unstructured databases, including Mongo or Elasticsearch, and graph databases, including Neo4J
Experience with implementation of test environments for automated code validation
Experience working with containers
Experience developing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and tooling, including Terraform
Experience with mono-repo architecture and tooling
Experience with Web page design in JavaScript, Angular, or Python Shiny
Experience developing pipelines using the AWS API, to include Lambda and Step functions
Knowledge of network protocols such as NMP or BGP
Ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-oriented environment and balance long- and short-term taskings

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
