IDEXX is looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about automated testing in a cloud-native, serverless environment to join our team focused on the payments industry. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our AWS serverless-based payment processing platform. As an SDET, you will design and implement test automation frameworks, validate AWS Lambda functions, API integrations, and DynamoDB operations, and contribute to a robust CI/CD pipeline.In this role:Test Automation &amp; Framework Development<ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for serverless architectures.</li><li>Implement API test automation for payment processing services.</li><li>Automate functional, integration, security, and performance tests across AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS).</li></ul>AWS &amp; Serverless Testing<ul><li>Develop event-driven test strategies for AWS Lambda-based applications.</li><li>Write test cases to validate DynamoDB transactions, ensuring data consistency and scalability.</li><li>Test serverless workflows involving Step Functions, EventBridge, and SQS/SNS messaging.</li><li>Implement monitoring and validation checks using CloudWatch Logs, X-Ray, and AWS Config.</li></ul>CI/CD &amp; Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Testing<ul><li>Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Octopus Deploy).</li><li>Work with developers to enable test automation in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments (Terraform, CloudFormation).</li><li>Ensure secure payment transactions by testing against PCI DSS compliance standards.</li></ul>Performance &amp; Security Testing<ul><li>Conduct load and stress testing on payment APIs using k6 (preferred), JMeter or Gatling.</li><li>Implement security testing to detect vulnerabilities in API endpoints and AWS resources.</li><li>Work with DevOps and security teams to enforce least privilege access control and security best practices in AWS IAM roles.</li><li>Design and engineer tools for creating simulated game-day outage events for reliability testing.</li></ul>What you need to succeed:<ul><li>Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>5&#43; years of experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, or QA Engineer in a cloud-based environment.</li><li>Strong programming skills in TypeScript (preferred), Python, or Java for test automation.</li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, Step Functions.</li><li>Experience in testing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.</li><li>Familiarity with serverless development frameworks (AWS SAM, Serverless Framework, or CDK).</li><li>Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or similar.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience in testing APIs and WebSockets in payment processing.</li><li>Knowledge of AWS KMS for encryption and secure data handling.</li><li>Familiarity with contract testing (e.g., Pact for API compatibility).</li><li>Experience in synthetic monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, AWS X-Ray.</li><li>Experience with testing tools like Playwright.</li><li>Understanding of payment industry standards (PCI DSS, EMV, tokenization, fraud prevention).</li></ul>Let’s Pursue What Matters. IDEXX values a diverse workforce and workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.  IDEXX is an equal opportunity employer.
