As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. 

Here, you’ll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced and agile environment. You’ll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:   
5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining cloud‑based data platforms, pipelines, and databases using established standards for design, capacity planning, data loading, maintenance, and security

5+ years of experience documenting and communicating database architectures, schemas, metadata, and data flows to technical and mission stakeholders

5+ years of experience building optimized data models, SQL, ETL pipelines, and transformation workflows for analytics, reporting, scientific analysis, and operations

5+ years of experience building and deploying data solutions in cloud environments, AWS preferred, using Python, containers, orchestration platforms, streaming tech, Git, and CI/CD

TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Bachelor’s degree in CS, data science, or math

Nice If You Have:   
Experience with Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, or Kafka

Experience working in Agile environments

Experience supporting AI or ML workflows or scientific compute pipelines

Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools

Knowledge of bioinformatics datasets, scientific repositories, or biological metadata models

AWS certification

Security+ certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
