Our Cloud Core Infrastructure team isn't just managing servers; WE are the navigators of a massive, shifting ocean of data, compute and artificial intelligence. We maintain the "vessels" (GKE clusters), the "charts" (Terraform), and the "treasure vaults" (HashiCorp Vault) that keep Banno afloat. We’re looking for an Engineer who doesn't just want to "work in tech," but someone who hears the call of the open sea—the vast, unexplored potential of the deep. 
This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO.
The salary range for this position is $70,000- $100,000 and will be determined based on location and experience level. This role may require occasional travel, up to 8% for meetings, training, or conferences.
All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.   
What you’ll be responsible for:
Watchkeeping: Monitoring our GKE and Dataflow horizons for any sign of trouble using Datadog and Honeycomb.
Maintaining the Rigging: Using Terraform to make sure our cloud resources are sturdy and well-labeled. 
Securing the Cargo: Learning the art of secret management within HashiCorp Vault to keep our keys out of the wrong hands. 
Ship’s Log: Helping us document our discoveries so the next explorer knows the way.
May perform other job duties as assigned. 

What you’ll need to have:
Enrolled in or a graduate of a computer science, or software engineering degree program or bootcamp. 
Navigational Scripting: A bit of Golang or Python to help automate the rowing.
Container Craft: Experience with Docker or Kubernetes (knowing your way around a Pod).
The Blueprinting: Familiarity with Terraform or other ways to chart the sea. 
Data Handling: Exposure to the big vaults like MongoDB, Spanner, or BigQuery.

POSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking an AI Engineer II to join our Information Technology team at our corporate office in Springfield, MO.  The AI Engineer II focuses on building and operationalizing AI solutions that align with the enterprise AI roadmap, enabling real-world applications of data intelligence and generative AI technologies.This position bridges business needs, data infrastructure, and applied AI development to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready systems that integrate seamlessly with enterprise platforms and data ecosystems.This position requires working onsite in our Springfield, MO headquarters.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  <ul><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI-driven automation and insight opportunities and define success metrics/acceptance criteria.</li><li>Translate business needs into technical requirements and design end-to-end AI workflows, including data sourcing, orchestration, and integration points.</li><li>Ensure data readiness by assessing availability and quality across enterprise and third-party sources; You will work closely with other departments to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality Workday solutions that meet business needs. Responsibilities:  ▪ Develop and implement integrations between Workday and external systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and technical specifications. ▪ Responsible for designing custom Reports through Workday tools. ▪ Design, test, and deploy integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, and other tools, following agile methodologies. ▪ Propose optimal integration solutions based on business needs and system capabilities. ▪ Implement data transformation logic for accurate data mapping. ▪ Conduct design reviews to ensure integrations are scalable and maintainable. ▪ Stay informed about Workday integration tools and technologies to recommend improvements. ▪ Develop and execute test plans, perform testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT). ▪ Ensure data security and compliance with information security policies. ▪ Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, optimizing performance to ensure efficient data transfer. ▪ Document integration designs and technical specifications. ▪ Develop dashboard and metrics to provide key stakeholders an insight into the organization ▪ Help monitor the effectiveness of reporting products, modify current reports, or operationalize new reports / methods as neededEducation:
 • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
 • Required: Minimum of 6 years of experience with coding & development or a related field OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
 • Preferred experience with Workday or other ERP systems.
Skills:
 • Demonstrated experience in developing integrations within the Workday ecosystem, including proficiency with Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), XSLT, Web Services, APIs, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services.
 • Solid understanding of the Workday object model, business processes, and security framework.
 • Demonstrated knowledge of core design principles, data modeling, data transformation, and data mapping techniques.
 • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
 • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively within a team.
 • Commitment to exceptional customer service.
 • Initiative to create innovative solutions and adherence to best practices.
 • Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, XML, SQL, or other programming languages
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
 • Workday Integration Certification(s) preferred.
