ESN is seeking a Software Engineer III - Python Developer to support a contract with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Atlantic, in Norfolk, VA. The contract to support NIWC LANT consists of Independent Validation &amp; Verification, Operations, Sustainment, and Installation support. The Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) systems provide near real-time material-based readiness reporting to the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) and provides three additional primary capabilities to the Fleet including Ashore and Afloat systems. This support includes Cybersecurity, automated software testing, Scrum Master support, operating in the AWS Cloud, management of JIRA/Confluence, and project support.
 
Position Description:
<ul>
<li>Developing automated software test suites using Python.</li>
<li>Schedule is Monday through Friday with some weekend support required.</li>
<li>Performs other duties and works schedules as assigned by management, which may include changes to duties, responsibilities, or work hours as required to meet contractual obligations, mission requirements, or the needs of the organization.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Required Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems).</li>
<li>Required certification - Security+, Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification, and International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).</li>
<li>Ten (10) years with Master's or fourteen (14) years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.</li>
<li>Specific Experience - Three (3) years' experience in Independent Verification and Validation (IV&amp;V) software testing. Three (3) years' experience in developing automated software tests. Two (2) years' experience in Agile Scrum Master training.</li>

About the Position
The Software Engineer role at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation supports the Foundation’s educational mission through the design, development, and support of technology solutions that enhance guest experiences and operational effectiveness. Embedded within the Information Technology department, this position works on enterprise applications, systems analysis, and custom integrations that connect diverse platforms into a reliable and scalable technology environment. Software Engineers collaborate with IT peers and business partners to translate requirements into effective solutions and provide tier-three application support, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule. Scope and level of responsibility vary based on experience.

Main Duties:
Responsibilities of both levels include but are not limited to:
