Web Engineer III

Medica is seeking an experienced Tech Lead/Data Engineer III. This role is ideal for an innovative and strategic thinker with a depth of experience in enterprise data and broader cloud-based data engineering initiatives. Design, build, implement, and maintain data storage structures and processing pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a variety of sources. Develop robust and scalable solutions that transform data into a useful format for analysis, enhance data flow, and enable efficient, cost-effective consumption and analysis of data. Write complex SQL queries to support analytics needs. Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data infrastructure and processing, including modern cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS, and data integration tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), and distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
Key Accountabilities:

<li>Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and storage solutions to support enterprise analytics.</li>
<li>Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security across all stages of the data lifecycle.</li>
<li>Collaborating with stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.</li>
<li>Monitoring and optimizing performance of data systems and ETL processes.</li>
<li>Supporting the deployment and maintenance of data infrastructure in cloud environments.</li>
<li>Developing and maintaining complex SQL scripts and stored procedures for data transformation and reporting.</li>
<li>Leveraging Informatica IDMC for cloud-native data integration, data quality, and governance workflows.</li>
</ul>
In addition to engineering responsibilities, the Data Generalist component of this role includes:
<ul>
<li>Performing exploratory data analysis and generating actionable insights.</li>
<li>Creating dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.</li>
<li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align data efforts with business goals.</li>
<li>Automating data workflows using scripting languages such as Python or R.</li>
<li>Supporting business intelligence initiatives and translating data into strategic recommendations.</li>
<li>Documenting data processes and contributing to data governance standards.</li>
<li>Applying AI and machine learning techniques to enhance predictive analytics, automate decision-making, and uncover deeper insights from complex datasets.</li>
<li>Utilizing preferred AI tools and platforms such as TensorFlow, Azure Machine Learning, scikit-learn, and PyTorch to build and deploy models that support enterprise analytics and innovation.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field</li>
<li>5 years of related work experience beyond the degree</li>
<li>Proficient use of SQL</li>
</ul>
Skills and Abilities 
<ul>
<li>Microsoft Certified: (or equivalent cloud) Azure Data Engineer</li>
<li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals</li>
<li>Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification</li>
<li>Snowflake Advanced Architect Certification</li>
<li>Healthcare industry experience is desired </li>
</ul>
This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.
The full salary grade for this position is $100,300 - $172,000. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $100,300 - $150,465. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
