Responsibilities We are looking for a SENSOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join a skilled, highly respected, and long-standing team supporting New Capabilities Integration efforts for emerging systems. The successful candidate will support product evaluations, quality studies, new product initializations, and/or product algorithm assessments. The candidate should have a working understanding and practical application of modeling components of the image path, including sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material properties. Familiarity with current systems and products will be necessary to develop, assess, and execute test and verification methodologies. Activities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Sensor modeling; decomposing product formation elements to quantify the overall quality of the image chain</li><li>Algorithm assessment to quantify the performance of a product given desire mission application</li><li>Performing baseline assessment of system performance to support sensor initialization</li><li>Operational monitoring of system performance over time</li><li>Responding to detected errors and artifacts by recommending possible causes and corrective actions</li></ul> Qualifications Required: <ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: left;">Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph</li><li style="text-align: left;">8 to 10 years of experience with a BS, 6 to 8 years with a MS, or 3 to 5 years with a PhD</li><li style="text-align: justify;">A degree in Imaging Science or Engineering</li><li>Experienced in Image Science (Phenomenology, Sensor technology, Image Processing)</li><li>Understanding of Image chain analysis to include sensor modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel data.</li><li>Understanding and application of image quality standards, scales, metrics, and image quality equations.</li><li>Applied knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes</li><li>Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including independent testing and data verification</li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team</li><li>Willingness to learn, solve problems, and perform in a dynamic work environment</li></ul>Desired:<ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Degree in Image Science, Field of Engineering, or Physics</li><li>Understanding of the enterprise TCPED process</li><li>A basic understanding of RF analysis and potential antenna modeling</li><li>Experience working in a DoD or IC operational environment</li><li>Experience working on Product Initialization teams</li><li>Understanding of Machine Learning and Neural Network algorithms</li></ul>Experience developing engineering code (e.g. C, Python, Matlab, IDL) to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results. BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 EEO Statement

IntroductionThe Applications Engineer will serve as a key technical liaison between customers, sales, and the product development teams, providing in-depth application support for optoelectronic components and systems. This role combines technical expertise, customer interaction, and problem-solving to ensure successful integration of the company’s products into customer applications.The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in optoelectronics, photonics, or semiconductor device physics, along with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Application Development<ul><li>Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for optoelectronic components, including laser diodes, photodiodes, LEDs, sensors, and optical subassemblies.</li><li>Understand customer system requirements and recommend appropriate products, configurations, and integration methods.</li><li>Develop and validate reference designs, evaluation boards, and demonstration systems to showcase product capabilities.</li><li>Support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and failure analysis for customer applications.</li></ul>Customer Engagement<ul><li>Collaborate with customers to translate application requirements into product specifications and performance targets.</li><li>Deliver technical presentations, training, and documentation to customers and field teams.</li><li>Act as a technical bridge between customers and internal R&D or manufacturing teams, ensuring customer feedback is incorporated into product improvements.</li></ul>Product & System Validation<ul><li>Conduct optical and electrical performance testing of devices and systems to verify compliance with customer requirements.</li><li>Support design-in efforts by simulating, modeling, or characterizing optical and electrical behavior under various use conditions.</li><li>Assist in creating application notes, datasheets, and technical white papers.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Collaboration<ul><li>Work closely with engineering, quality, and product management to define new product features and specifications.</li><li>Participate in new product introduction (NPI) by providing feedback on design suitability and real-world performance.</li><li>Contribute to competitive benchmarking and technical market analysis.</li></ul>  

Cualificaciones:
