Job DescriptionSenior Controls Development Software Engineer – Low Voltage InfrastructureJob Description:Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee&#39;s role enables them to be onsite approximately 3 days (Tues., Wed., Thurs.) per week.The Role: Embedded Platform System &amp; Infrastructure (EPSI) is a production level group that supports the definition, design, and development of all embedded controllers related to vehicle mechatronics. The Low Voltage Infrastructure (LVI) organization within EPSI is focused on the development of controls &amp; diagnostic software centered around on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, and distribution. This role is paramount to the successful review, development, simplification, integration and release of VIP and SDV2.0 architectures controller software. The selected candidate will learn, modify existing and develop new innovative controls strategies, which will be at the core of all vehicles within the General Motors portfolio and essential to keeping General Motors at the forefront of low voltage related technologies.Responsibilities: <ul><li>Lead development and implementation of controls development for complex low voltage related features in embedded C and C&#43;&#43;. Proficiency in both is vital as this role will be centered around improvements, best practices institution, code efficiency, vulnerability surface mitigation and addressing feature to feature interference. Research and develop novel solutions to controls challenges.</li><li>Contribute to ART Feature and user story elaboration into individual work items.  Contribute to ensuring that definition of done and acceptance criteria are well defined</li><li>Provide information as required to calibration procedures </li><li>Ensure compliance to safety and governmental regulations while following GM-internal best practices</li><li>Work cross-functionally with System Engineers, other Software Engineers, Architects, Calibrators, Scrum Managers and Scrum Leaders to ensure robust design</li><li>Collaborate with other team members to define and integrate components, check functionality on the bench and in the vehicle</li><li>Design and manage key strategic interfaces within deliverables to enable component reuse and consistency to standard methodologies</li><li>Lead and support other specialists in root cause analysis and resolution of issues related to the low voltage electric power domain</li><li>Verify functional performance of controls designs through testing (Unit, HIL, SIL, Vehicle), data analysis, and verification of acceptance criteria</li><li>Document Intellectual Property</li><li>Participate in the relevant team and program events: Program Increment Planning, DSU (Daily Stand Up), iteration reviews, ART inspection and adapt sessions etc.</li><li>Build the capability of the team through mentorship, creation of training material, development of tools, etc.</li><li>Identify opportunities and drive improvement initiatives through to completion for process, workflow, and strategic changes</li></ul>Your Skills &amp; Abilities (Required Qualifications):<ul><li>BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree.                                                              </li><li>5&#43; years Engineering experience related to embedded controls (PLC, Power Systems, ADAS, Infotainment), calibration, integration, or software development</li><li>Skilled with software development (C, C&#43;&#43;, Python)</li><li>Understanding of embedded controls development and delivery processes, including SAFE/Agile.</li><li>Experience using embedded controls test assets (SIL, HIL, Vehicle, etc) and tools (INCA, MDA, etc).
