<p>As part of a team providing on-site Modeling and Simulation (M&amp;S) support to establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC, this candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of NAVAIR’s Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that provides constructive entities to the battlespace simulation and supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis, and research and development. The Software Engineer will leverage their expertise in C++/C, along with strong design skills, to enhance the functionality and integration of NGTS with other JSE components like GRID (Global Reusable Interface Domain) in a complex simulation and training environment. </div></div><p><strong>Software Engineering Lead - Warehouse &amp; ERP Systems</strong></p>
<p>We're replacing our legacy ERP and WMS with custom systems at North America's largest battery recycler. The 2026 cutover date is firm - you'll define what gets built by deadline and what gets deferred.</p>
<p>The immediate build is a custom WMS: receiving, putaway, picking, shipping, bin/lot/serial tracking, cycle count. This integrates with core ERP and manufacturing systems. You own the boundary between warehouse operations and financial systems.</p>
<p>This is a permanent product area, not a project. After cutover, you own and evolve this domain as the company's operational backbone.</p>
<p><strong>What You'll Do<br></strong>You start by embedding with warehouse operators, finance, and operations stakeholders - mostly on-site, some remote - to define what the WMS must do at cutover. You make scope decisions that keep the system minimal. Every requirement should justify its existence.</p>
<p>As requirements take shape, you help hire a small engineering team and lead them through build and delivery. Your manager provides strategic direction and support. You own product definition, scope decisions, and your team's output.</p>
<p>After cutover: stabilization, then continuous improvement and scope expansion. Permanent product ownership.</p>
<p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p>
<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Direct experience building, implementing, or heavily customizing warehouse management or supply chain systems - you understand how receiving, inventory, and shipping actually work</li>
<li>Ability to define product scope from stakeholder conversations - not just build to spec, but determine what should be built and why</li>
<li>Clear, direct communicator who can interview floor operators, negotiate scope boundaries with cross-functional teams, and report status up</li>
<li>Technical depth to direct a small engineering team building on Python, React, and AWS with our existing team’s established patterns</li>
<li>Willing to be on-site in Nevada at least 3 days a week</li>
