Position Summary
Griffon Aerospace is seeking a Mid-Level Aerospace Engineer to join our engineering team in Madison, Alabama. 
Primary Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Creating and refining CAD models (SolidWorks) </li>
<li>Produce detailed drawings with tolerances, materials, and manufacturing specs </li>
<li>Ensuring designs meet performance, weight, and safety requirements</li>
<li>Working closely with manufacturing, systems, test, and quality teams </li>
<li>Coordinating with suppliers and external partners </li>
<li>Participating in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and presenting your work clearly</li>
<li>Translating system-level requirements into design specs </li>
<li>Maintaining documentation (reports, design justifications, compliance matrices) </li>
<li>Ensuring traceability and adherence to standards (FAA, NASA, or internal)</li>
<li>Investigating failures or anomalies </li>
<li>Performing root cause analysis and implementing fixes </li>
<li>Making trade-off decisions (cost vs weight vs performance)</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
2-10 years' experience.

What You’ll Do Role
As a Quality Engineer, you'll be a key part of our Quality team, using your advanced problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to maintain highest product quality and customer satisfaction. Your work will directly support our continuous innovation and growth efforts.
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Troubleshoot product failures  </li>
<li>Write and execute test plans to find the root cause of failures </li>
<li>Work with internal and external stakeholders on corrective and preventative actions </li>
<li>Lead complex, high impact investigations involving customer escalations, systemic field failures, RMAs, and critical non conformances using advanced problem solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, DOE, statistical analysis).</li>
<li>Support customer communications by clearly articulating technical findings, risks, and corrective actions at both operational and leadership levels.</li>
<li>Design test fixtures and software solutions to expedite execution of testing</li>
<li>Develop control plans, inspection plans, and SOP’s for processes required during failure analysis, root cause investigation, or as containment actions.</li>
</ul>
Basic Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>BS or MS in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering  </li>
<li>A minimum of 5-10 years of quality-related work experience </li>
<li>Legally authorized to work in Taiwan and China without company sponsorship, and travel through the Asia Pacific region.</li>
</ul>
 
Preferred Qualifications:

<li>Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly and competent with hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hand drill etc.)</li>
<li>Knowledge of programming tools such as LabView, Python, etc. </li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of embedded systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, Linux, Bash, etc.  </li>

<li>Experience in using basic metrology equipment (microscopes, calipers, micrometers, other mechanical gauges)   Demonstrated experience in testing and qualifying electro-mechanical parts and systems </li>
<li>Experience in root-causing product failures, 8D reporting, as well as developing corrective, and preventative actions recommendations </li>
</ul>
 
Skills (competencies):

<li> Excellent English and local language skills for internal/external communication and technical writing</li>
<li> Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and electrical schematics</li>
<li> Intermediate to advanced data analysis and statistical skill level in MS Excel and other software tools.</li>
