Overview:
Responsible for delivering a variety of basic data solutions for all units within the Actuarial department. Creates well documented data applications in a strong control environment. Supports development of self and others through cross-training. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Note: (For NJ candidates) This role will be located at our future headquarters in Short Hills, N.J. Until the new headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during this interim period. 

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Prepare data and templates for quarterly loss and LAE reserve analyses. Ensure balancing of data to source systems. Maintain proper controls and documentation.</li><li>Support production and automation of designated external and internal financial and management reports. These include but are not limited to statutory schedules (P) and the “AY Report”. May also include regulatory reports and bureau data calls. Requires direction from supervisor or senior programmer.</li><li>Support ceded reinsurance placement by providing information and data for broker submissions. Respond to ad hoc requests from brokers with active guidance from supervisor.</li><li>Support commercial and personal lines pricing by providing routine scheduled pricing review data, for both state and countrywide reviews. Maintain programming code and associated documentation.</li><li>Support all areas of the Actuarial department by providing ad hoc data as requested and agreed upon. Assist supervisor or senior programmer through process. This includes discussing needs, identifying potential solutions and testing. Facilitate the process through regular communication with supervisor and clients.</li><li>Identify potential improvements and efficiencies within current processes. Improve data and systems landscape through increased automation, including programming of simple algorithms in a sustainable environment. Properly document associated programming code.</li><li>Support corporate IT objectives where technical business resources are required. This may include development, testing, and/or documentation, under the direction of supervisor or senior programmer.</li><li>Increase knowledge base through on the job training, cross-training and open communication.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Knowledge and Requirements<ul><li>To maintain effectiveness by improving skills and acquiring new skills over time.</li><li>To respond to customer expectations and needs.</li></ul> Education and Experience<ul><li>College degree preferred.</li><li>1-3 years actuarial experience preferred</li><li>1-3 years of programming systems software</li><li>Python/Databricks and/or TM1/Planning Analytics experience preferred.</li></ul>

Pay Range:
USD $76,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
