<p><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p>
<ul><li>Software Engineer II develops, enhances, and maintains Atec software platforms across enterprise and embedded systems, taking ownership of significant components and independently solving complex technical problems. In addition to supporting legacy systems, this position leads development activities, mentors junior engineers, participates in architectural design, and actively contributes to innovation and new product initiatives.</li></ul>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul><li>Design, develop, test, and maintain robust software applications using C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, familiar with Microsoft Studio and other appropriate technologies.</li><li>Lead software projects or modules, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.</li><li>Organize, maintain, and review codebases using SVN and/or other version control systems.</li><li>Architect and implement new software features based on evolving customer and system requirements.</li><li>Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance bottlenecks.</li><li>Prepare and update technical documents, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.</li><li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, QA, and project management.</li><li>Research and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to improve software development efficiency.</li><li>Support deployment, integration, and validation activities at customer or field sites as required.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of design changes, versioning, and issue tracking.</li><li>Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.</li><li>Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.</li></ul>
<p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul><li>Mentor and support Software Engineer I team members as assigned.</li><li>May oversee interns or co-op students on projects or tasks.</li></ul>
<p><strong>AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES</strong></p>
<ul><li>Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.</li><li>Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.</li><li>Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.</li><li>Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.</li><li>Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.</li><li>Cooperate with Auditors.</li><li>Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.</li></ul>
<p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<ul><li>Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Minimum five (5) years of related experience in software development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading software tasks or projects.</li></ul>
<p><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS</strong></p>
<ul><li>Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and LabVIEW; familiarity with additional languages a plus (e.g., Java, C#).</li><li>Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.</li><li>Experience with embedded systems, real-time applications, or device integration preferred.</li><li>Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.</li></ul>
<p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</strong></p>
<ul><li>None required. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified LabVIEW Developer) are a plus</li></ul>

<p>AOI is seeking a Software QA Engineer with 10+ Years of experience testing embedded Firmware and software applications in the cable industry. As a Senior Staff QA Engineer, you will help lead the quality strategy for our next-generation smart amplifiers. With over a decade of experience, you will act as a "gatekeeper of quality," ensuring our devices deliver a seamless digital experience for our customers. Beyond traditional testing, you will participate in the definition and implementation of a nascent automation initiative, building scalable frameworks from the ground up and mentoring a growing team to adopt automated testing as a core discipline.</p>

<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p>

<ul>

	<p><strong>Quality:</strong> Define quality parameters and design test procedures specifically for connected smart home products.</p>
	</li>
	<li>
	<p><strong>Technical Mentorship:</strong> Act as a coach for the engineering team, providing guidance on testing techniques, establishing KPIs, and promoting best practices for testability.</p>

	<li>
	<p><strong>End-to-End Strategy:</strong> Drive quality initiatives across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from initial requirement reviews to final production release.</p>
