AST is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Technology and Product Team. The Software Engineer will play an active role in spearheading and developing AST&#8217;s software control system and technological advancements across multiple fronts. You will work cross functionally to contribute and execute AST&#8217;s strategic vision on products, services, and customer experiences. The Software Engineer position will report to the Chief Technology Officer and is a full-time position that is located onsite in Tacoma, Washington. What will I be doing?<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Overall responsible for all PC and Android-based machine automation control systems and platforms. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define and deliver complete machine automation solutions. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Develop and execute software functional and design requirement documents, scope of work documents, and project plans.&#160; </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Design, develop, and implement features for our Android and .NET applications controlling industrial devices using modern development tools.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Ensure proper documentation and produce professional user operation manuals. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Design, develop, and implement machine learning models using C# and Python, or other applicable and modern tools. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Integrate machine learning models into machine automation software applications.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Stay up to date on the latest advancements in machine learning and related technologies.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Up to 20% of travel required. </li></ul>&#160;What experience is AST looking for?<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Bachelor&#8217;s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">2+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on C# or modern object-oriented programming, Android, and Python.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Familiarity with common machine learning algorithms and techniques (e.g., classification, regression, clustering)</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">A strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to think creatively and independently.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, in a very fast paced environment and with little supervision.</li></ul>Eligibility Requirements:<ul><li style="margin-left:48px;">Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.</li><li style="margin-left:48px;">Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.</li></ul>AST is proud of our team.
