Position Overview

&nbsp;

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer &ndash; Autonomous Mobile Robotics to support the design, development, integration, and lifecycle management of software systems used in Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) operating in data center environments. 

This role focuses on developing and maintaining software architectures that enable reliable navigation, perception, and fleet coordination of robotic vehicles operating in complex facilities such as manufacturing plants, logistics centers, and data center infrastructure environments. 

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and deployment of robot control software, sensor integration, navigation algorithms, and fleet management systems that support safe, scalable, and high-performance robotic operations.

Job Description:

	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Develop, maintain, and optimize software for AGV and AMR control systems.</li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Implement and support navigation, localization, and motion control algorithms used in autonomous vehicles. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Develop software modules for real-time robot control and industrial automation systems. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">&nbsp;Implement and maintain SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) navigation algorithms. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Develop and maintain software using CODESYS for industrial robotic systems. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Integrate robot control systems with industrial PLC architecture and automation infrastructure. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Support communication protocols used in industrial robotics environments (EtherCAT, CAN, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc.). </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Design and support robot SLAM navigation and fleet management systems responsible for task scheduling, traffic control, and system coordination.</li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Implement communication frameworks enabling multi-robot coordination and centralized fleet supervision. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">&nbsp;Integrate robotics systems with WMS, MES, and facility control systems.</li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Develop simulation and test environments for validating navigation algorithms and robot behaviors.</li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Support system testing, commissioning, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for robotic platforms. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Debug field issues related to navigation, perception, and fleet coordination. </li>
	<li style="margin-left:8px;">Optimize system performance for high uptime and reliability in industrial operations. </li>

Widescope is embarking on a multi-year modernization journey across multiple federal programs. Accordingly, we are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer/Software Development Engineer in Test who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites across web, mobile, and API-based applications. For this crucial role, he/she must bring experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter and Gatling, and possesses knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure. Holds ISTQB or equivalent certification.

The right candidate will execute and manage various testing types including:

	<li>Smoke Testing: Validate basic functionality after builds.</li>
	<li>Sanity Testing: Confirm rationality of minor changes or bug fixes.</li>

	<li>Accessibility Testing: Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).</li>
	<li>Localization Testing: Validate language, formatting, and cultural accuracy.</li>
	<li>User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Support stakeholders in validating business requirements.</li>
	<li>Customer Testing: Facilitate external testing feedback loops.</li>
	<li>Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into test plans and test cases.</li>
	<li>Identify, document, and track bugs and issues through resolution.</li>
	<li>Triage and support production incidents and participate in developer on-call rotations.</li>
	<li>Establish, track, and monitor quality metrics, presenting to leadership for alignment</li>
	<li>Continuously improve test coverage, tools, and processes to ensure high-quality releases.</li>
	<li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of quality across the engineering team.</li>
	<li>Collaborate with other SDETs and engineering leadership on formulating and driving standardized test strategy across multiple products.</li>

Role Requirements:

<ul>
	<li>Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiency.</li>
	<li>3+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.</li>
	<li>Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).</li>
	<li>Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.</li>
	<li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).</li>
	<li>Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.</li>
	<li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li>
	<li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li>
