The full Pay Range is $110,100.00 - $204,900.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. You’ll apply engineering rigor, architectural thinking, and hands‑on development leadership to accelerate MDX priorities. You’ll shape how we build systems, mentor developers, and influence engineering standards across the organization. Your work will improve reliability, performance, and long-term technical health across our platforms. Through your contributions, you’ll help advance BECU’s mission to improve the financial well‑being of our members. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays &amp; Wednesdays.  For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.  <h2>WHAT YOU’LL DO:</h2><ul><li>Design &amp; Develop Software:  Build scalable, resilient, and secure services while developing prototypes, proofs of concept, and production‑ready features using modern engineering practices.</li><li>Lead Engineering Workstreams:  Guide small to medium teams through designing, building, testing, and delivering system components and services.</li><li>Drive Code Quality:  Model BECU’s coding standards, provide thorough code reviews, and champion clean, maintainable design principles.</li><li>Implement Technical Improvements:  Identify opportunities to modernize design, code, and system structure, and drive enhancements—including greenfield initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to Architecture:  Collaborate with architects and product owners to define technical direction, roadmaps, and long‑term engineering strategy.</li><li>Mentor &amp; Develop Others:  Coach junior developers and SDETs through pairing, feedback, and knowledge‑sharing.</li><li>Automate &amp; Optimize:  Lead automation and process‑streamlining efforts that support operational excellence.</li><li>Collaborate &amp; Communicate:  Share technical insights across engineering teams and clearly communicate complex concepts to technical stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure Secure Development:  Apply secure coding practices and use static analysis tools to identify and resolve vulnerabilities.</li><li>Own the Full SDLC:  Contribute to analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and operational hand‑off.</li><li>Work With Data Systems:  Build and maintain data models, database scripts, and migrations; develop solutions for large datasets and analytics workflows.</li></ul>This isn’t just about ticking off tasks on a list.
