<p>The Senior Market Solutions Engineer will lead the electric power system model used by the scheduling and dispatch software. The Senior Market Solutions Engineer will develop and apply a working knowledge of the New York State high voltage transmission system and the network model database software to support the NYISO market and security functions. <li>Provide solution and technical leadership in consultation with vendors</li>
<li>Develop mathematical models for all EMS and BMS projects in the organization</li>
<li>Provide technical leadership to prepare market enhancements in response to the Stakeholders and Regulators</li>
<li>Lead testing efforts of Capacity Market Operations including development of resource adequacy models, capacity auction models, capacity expansion models and capacity accreditation models. &nbsp;</li>
<li>Support and maintain the PMU applications such as stand-alone visualization software and EMS based Voltage Stability Monitoring (VSM).   &nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide technical support to Market Monitoring, IT Quality Assurance and Stakeholder Service in replying to Market Participant questions for all aspects of Market Solutions Engineering.    &nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide technical support to Market Validation team to validate scheduling and pricing outcomes in the markets.  &nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide implementation support to the product teams by reviewing requirements documents, reviewing design notes from vendors and developing User Acceptance test plans for deployment of enhancements and new features to production.  &nbsp;</li>
<li>Support external research engagements for the NYISO and actively support research engagements under the direction of Manager, Market Solutions Engineering.</li>

<p>PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related fields (i.e.&nbsp;​​Operations Research, Economics, other Engineering disciplines)&nbsp;strongly desired.&nbsp; Master's degree&nbsp;required. Coursework and/or demonstrated exposure to electricity market and grid operations required.</p>

<p><strong><u>EXPERIENCE</u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Five to seven years’ experience in the areas of Electrical Engineering and/or Operations Research with software simulation experience is preferred.</li>
<li>Experience using computer programs such as Energy Management Systems, Security Constrained Unit Commitment (SCUC) and Real-Time Scheduling (RTS), Grid View, GE-MAPS, PROMOD, Modeling Language for Mathematical Programming like AMPL, MATLAB or GAMS is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Strong Python programming skills and a working knowledge of shell scripting and Linux command line is required.</li>
<li>Background in models and databases used in power system analyses, and business experience in electric power systems or wholesale electric markets are desired, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>
