Position Description: The Intermediate Software Developer will contribute to a software team developing software for models and simulations used for Cybersecurity and Electro-Magnetic Activities (CEMA) training. This involves software coding within training simulations as well as integration with other simulations and military systems. Candidate will work in a team of developers, engineers, and analysts to address growing concerns of cyber security in highly networked weapon systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Will help the team in working on customer-sponsored research and development projects developing defensive cyber security solutions for military weapon systems.</li>
<li>Developing simulations to emulate threat realistic CEMA environments.</li>
<li>Development of offensive and defensive cyber tools focused on Command and Control (C2) and Radar systems.</li>
<li>Researching current and future cyber security threats against military systems.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Two (2) years of professional experience with software development is preferred.</li>
<li>Programming ability in Python and/or C++.</li>
<li>Candidate must be willing to travel approx. 5% each year if necessary (typically within the Continental United States)</li>

Desired (but not required) Qualifications:

<li>Experience with C++ 14/17/20</li>
<li>Experience with CMAKE</li>
<li>Familiarity with Linux/POSIX platforms</li>

This role supports compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including 49 CFR 192 Subpart P (DIMP), and plays a key role in transmission integrity risk modeling and capital prioritization.The engineer will develop, maintain, and apply pipeline risk models; analyze asset data; and provide technical recommendations to support engineering processes.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRisk Modeling &amp; Analysis<ul style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining probabilistic and quantitative pipeline risk models using structured logic, threat identification, and weighting factors.</li><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Analyze assets, inspection, and operational data to identify integrity threats and support risk ranking and prioritization.</li><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Support capital planning by aligning risk reduction opportunities with integrity projects and system upgrades.</li></ul> Regulatory Compliance &amp; Audits<ul style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Participate in internal audits, peer reviews, and regulatory inspections related to integrity management and risk assessment.</li><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Ensure compliance with PHMSA, API, ASME, AMPP, and other regulatory standards.</li></ul> Collaboration &amp; Reporting<ul style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Corrosion, and System Planning teams to implement effective risk mitigation strategies.</li><li style="margin: 0in; line-height: normal; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Prepare technical reports, risk summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory audiences.</li></ul> EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE<ul type="disc"><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in mechanical, Civil, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">2+ years of experience in pipeline integrity, risk assessment, or related engineering roles.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Working knowledge of pipeline integrity management regulations, including 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8S, and API RP 1173.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience using GIS, hydraulic modeling tools, and risk analysis software.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES&nbsp;<ul type="disc"><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Familiarity with corrosion prevention practices and historical pipeline material (PE, HDPE, Steel, Aldyl-A, etc.) and coating practices (bare, field applied, coal tar, etc.).</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Prior involvement in integrity management audits, or PHMSA inspections.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience using JANA risk modeling software (Lighthouse, Spotlight) or similar pipeline risk assessment platforms.</li><li style="margin-left: 0in; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Proficiency in data analysis tools (advanced Excel, SQL, Python, or similar).</li></ul>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
