What you'll do:
We are looking for a dedicated Software QA Engineer specializing in test automation who thinks long-term and strives to develop scalable, maintainable solutions to join our team! You will use industry-standard automation tools and frameworks to support Viasat’s diverse range of vertically integrated products. Collaborating closely with engineers from various domains, you will help refine test strategies, ensure comprehensive test coverage, and enhance product designs. In this highly collaborative environment, you will play a key role in aligning with software engineering standard processes and advancing our craft. Your responsibilities include implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, developing standard libraries, and ensuring quality throughout the entire product lifecycle. Ultimately, you will deliver reliable, high-quality test software solutions to both internal teams and external customers, supporting Viasat’s commitment to excellence.

The day-to-day:
<ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li>Analyzing high-level requirements and providing constructive feedback to ensure they are clear, testable, and achievable.</li><li>Deriving detailed test software requirements based on customer needs and project goals. Designing and documenting scalable test software architectures to facilitate long-term maintenance and support.</li><li>Developing automated test routines that work with DUTs and other hardware components to verify product quality.</li><li>Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to find opportunities for code reuse and process enhancements that increase development efficiency.</li><li>Collaborating with product design engineers to develop more testable products and solutions that enable self-testing capabilities.</li><li>Contributing to a data-driven test strategy to optimize testing effectiveness and coverage.</li></ul>

What you'll need:
 <ul><li style="list-style-type: none;"> </li></ul><ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field or equivalent years of experience</li><li>Proven experience in systems and test engineering within complex, multi-faceted environments.</li><li>Proven track record developing software in a collaborative team setting, utilizing version control systems, build automation, bug tracking, test-driven development, and related processes and technologies.</li><li>Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, or other similar text-based languages.</li><li>Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP, UDP, and Multicast, and familiarity with network devices used in product testing scenarios</li><li>Demonstrated experience implementing test automation and developing next-generation test platforms.</li><li>Ability to create comprehensive software test plans that ensure requirements coverage and compliance.</li><li>This position requires U.S. Citizenship.</li><li>Must be able to work out of our Duluth, GA office</li></ul>

Application Quality Assurance Analyst III Objective
The Application Quality Assurance Analyst III supports and enhances the team’s quality assurance capabilities by performing both manual and automated application testing across core enterprise systems (WMS, ERP, Salesforce, and Middleware). This role independently designs test cases, implements automation frameworks, and leverages AI-assisted testing and analytics tools to improve coverage and accuracy. They work collaboratively with developers, analysts, and business users (Value Chain) to ensure that new features and system changes meet functional, performance, and integration requirements. The Analyst III also contributes to continuous improvement of the team’s quality practices, test environments, and DevOps pipelines, using both traditional automation and emerging AI-driven validation methods. The analyst may be involved in other parts of the delivery process including requirements creation, deployment and support.

Responsibilities:<ul>
<li>Create, enhance, execute, maintain, and manage manual test scripts across multiple applications and platforms</li>
<li>Create, enhance, execute, maintain, and manage automated test scripts using approved tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or similar)</li>
<li>Apply AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., for regression prediction, visual validation, and script generation) to accelerate test creation and defect identification</li>
<li>Analyze test results, identify software defects, and collaborate with developers and SMEs</li>
<li>Support and maintain test environments, including test data management and creation, and environment readiness </li>
<li>Create test plans creation and quality strategy, providing input on risk-based testing and automation priorities and presents these to the Value Chain for Review</li>
<li>Document testing outcomes, work with the Value chain to create or update 'use cases,' and contribute to user acceptance testing guidance</li>
<li>Participate in Deployments and Acceptance Testing </li>
<li>Assist in Support as needed </li></ul> 

Qualifications:
Required:<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing roles</li>
<li>3+ year experience architecting and designing tests based on user stories and acceptance criteria</li>
<li>Demonstrated proficiency setting up and using automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) and scripting in Python, JavaScript, or a similar automation language</li>
<li>Familiarity with AI-driven testing tools for regression or visual testing</li>
<li>Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes</li>
<li>Working knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques</li>
