PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Test Engineer will be expected to drive test process efficiency improvements reducing Time-to-Fail and overall test time while maintaining integrity of test and quality of product shipped. Support the launch of new products at QMN.  Work closely with the end customers, corporate R&D, Test Development, and Manufacturing teams to analyze test data, troubleshoot, and identify product defects, verify fixes and document test results. Communicate product readiness, level of quality, and results to project team.

Test Engineer

Bachelor’s degree or 2 years software/test development experience; capable of discussing technical project work; proven test programming and debugging productivity.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Test Engineer will perform the following functions:
1. Develop, implement and support test processes for the Production of a variety of products including Servers, switches and storage devices
2. Develop techniques to troubleshoot failing systems as quickly and efficiently as possible
3. Create work instructions and update online documentation for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing all CCBU products assembled at QMN
4. Train production technicians to test, troubleshoot and repair CCBU products manufactured at QMN. This will entail managing several test projects simultaneously.

Test Engineer 1

Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent; or 2 years of software development; strong test programming and debugging skills.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Test Engineering Lead will perform the following functions:
<ul><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Work with the TE Manager to establish priorities for work done by the Test Engineers</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Act as the SME for test development, advising the Test Engineers with regards to difficult issues in the test process and failures that are a challenge to troubleshoot</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Represent the QMN Test Engineering team in meetings with customers and keep abreast of issues affecting product testing so as to accurately report on these</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Contribute to the test development effort for specific projects, including scripting where appropriate and needed.</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Become adept at retrieving and analyzing test data to reveal issues that cause frequent fails and/or hangs during the test process</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Work with corporate R&D and Test Engineering teams to improve test strategy, reducing test time where possible without sacrificing quality</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Guide the creation of work instructions and online documentation for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing products</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Identifies issues affecting test efficiency and works with the TE Manager to determine priorities of addressing these</li><li class="MsoNormal">Help to keep TE team focused on these issues as they are identified</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provides leadership for all tests and diagnostics used in product engineering, manufacturing, returned material repair and supplier quality</li><li class="MsoNormal">Develops and maintains automated test processes as necessary, alongside other Test Engineers</li><li class="MsoNormal">Analyzes failure reports and makes recommendations to improve the test process as well as quality assurance processes, practices and procedures</li><li class="MsoNormal">Makes good technical decisions and completes tasks & assignments under only general direction </li><li class="MsoNormal">Recognize problems that need further investigation, seek assistance when needed, demonstrate initiative and self-motivation</li><li class="MsoNormal">Independently determine and develop approach to solutions, under only very general direction</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provide solutions for wide range of difficult problems </li><li class="MsoNormal">Ensure common test tool set is developed for use in manufacturing and service</li></ul>
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline, or alternatively 3 years of experience in Software Development.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience in leadership roles, whether as team lead, supervisor, or mentor</li><li class="MsoNormal">Demonstrable skills and the ability to discuss, in depth, the technical aspects of project experience </li><li class="MsoNormal">A proven track record of high productivity in test programming and debugging </li></ul>
 
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with Python scripting and Linux shell scripts to test computer hardware and verify hardware configurations</li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with server architecture including: hardware, firmware and drivers </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with network technologies and protocols, switches, routers etc.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with PXE boot process, Automated Test Network, and OS download</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience, and solid understanding of the hardware product development lifecycle, software development methodologies, change management, release management, configuration management</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with client / server environments </li></ul>
