General Definition: As a representative of the Remington Park Security Team, this position will be providing a visible first line security presence throughout the Remington Park property. As an Armed Security sergeant, they will be expected to effectively and efficiently handle all internal and external client inquiries and requests and the ensure safety and protection of customers. They will be expected to provide direct support to security leadership as required.

Essential Job Functions: 

 

<ul>
	<li>Responsible for the safety and well being of guests and fellow employees.</li>
	<li>Gives directions and provides escort to customers in need.</li>
	<li>Provides assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings.</li>
	<li>may be assigned supervisory and/or administrative activities within a variety of security operations; including, patrol, administration, or other equivalent duties</li>
	<li>Regularly provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions.</li>
	<li>Patrols all sections of property to identify safety hazards and breaks in security.</li>
	<li>Interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.</li>
	<li>Makes lost and found detailed descriptions of people and incidents.</li>
	<li>Adheres to and ensures all security officers are abiding by company policies and procedures.</li>
	<li>Maintains and enforces internal security regulations.</li>
	<li>The Security Officer is uniformed, badged distinctively, and is armed.</li>
	<li>Must be knowledgeable and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures, and internal control protocols.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education: 

 

<ul>
	<li>High School Diploma or GED and one to two (1-2) years of previous security services required. Prior military service or civilian law enforcement training or combination of education and experience preferred.</li>
</ul>

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

<ul>
	<li>Effective interpersonal communication skills to work with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel</li>
	<li>Operational knowledge in security services protocol</li>
	<li>Strong written and oral communication skills</li>
	<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: word, excel.</li>
	<li>Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.</li>
	<li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</li>
	<li>Able to operate various types of office equipment including, but not limited to; personal computers, printers, 10 key adding machines, copy machines, FAX machines, and telephone, typewriter, and photo identification systems.</li>
	<li>Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays</li>
</ul>

	<li>Ability to enter a smoke-filled environment as needed OR Must be able to work in a smoke-filled casino environment</li>

The minimum age for service shall be twenty (20) years of age. The Director shall have the authority to establish the maximum age for correctional officers entering service and b. possession of thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university; or possession of a high school diploma acquired from an accredited high school or GED equivalent testing program and graduation from a training course conducted by or approved by the Department and certified by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training either prior to employment or during the first six (6) months of employment....” Note: Successful completion of the GED test is based upon standards established by the Oklahoma Department of Education. Special Requirements:Per 57 O.S. 510 applicants/employees in this job family shall be subject to the following additional requirements: (a) be of good moral character; (b) before going on duty alone, satisfactory completion of an adequate training program for correctional officers and guards, as prescribed and approved by the State Board of Corrections; and (c) satisfactory completion of a physical in keeping with the conditions of the job description on an annual basis and along the guidelines as established by the Department of Corrections. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment in order to perform necessary travel. Applicants will be subject to drug testing. Applicants must be willing and able to work any assigned shift or day of the week. NOTE: Employees in this job classification may be designated as peace officers by the Director and required to meet the training and screening requirements conducted by the Department and certified by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.
