SUMMARY

The Lab Technician 1 will effectively contribute to the laboratory team by providing excellent service and fulfilling the daily responsibilities within the lab to ensure improved efficiencies, productivity, quality assurance, profitability, problem resolution, and to establish reliability and convenience for customers of ServiTech. This position is critical to the safety of animals&rsquo; lives, natural resources, and the environment!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

	Requires professional and effective communication skills, teamwork, effective organizational skills, the ability to focus and pay attention to details, and the ability to work efficiently without compromising quality to ensure successful operational workflow.

	Focuses on mastery of fundamental laboratory work protocols and processing tests within a workgroup. This includes accurate and efficient completion of laboratory work, the ability to learn and follow multi-step detailed testing protocols, make relevant observations based on the data set, and responsibly and accurately record data.
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
	Requires effective verbal and written communication skills to serve internal and external customers&rsquo; needs.
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
	Responsible for preparation and cleaning within the lab, and maintenance of equipment as directed.
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
	While serving customers, this position will work with other ServiTech team members, the Laboratory Manager, and/or the Chief Laboratory Officer to ensure growth and success.
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
	Continuously learn and develop the necessary skills to contribute to the laboratory team. This position must demonstrate a professional image by proactively taking responsibility, troubleshooting/problem solving, working individually and as a team, and successfully ensuring quality, productivity, efficiency, and safety.

	This position will also be required to perform other duties as assigned by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, read, talk and/or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, drive, and operate a computer for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to walk, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and is regularly required to climb stairs. Physically this position demands that an employee both sit or stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus including regular use of a computer.

Based on the farmers&rsquo; needs and therefore fluctuates as far as hours worked during peak seasons which include long days, weeks, and months as needed. Willing to work weekends, holidays and long hours as required.&nbsp;

Lab Technician 1

High school diploma or GED; 6 months to 1 year related experience; driver’s license required; MS Office proficiency; ability to learn software; strong communication and data handling skills.

<h3>Description</h3>
Summary
This position shall complete intake and screening procedures on youth referred by law enforcement, parents, and social service agencies. Work will be performed independently within the established policies and procedures and will be reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and appropriateness. This program is 24 hours a day. Intake workers will be required to take calls on a rotating on-call basis and will be required to respond to the law enforcement agency in which the youth is being held. Written reports will be typed and completed by the officer. Follow-up work may include arranging the release of youth and coordinating court appearances with the county attorney’s office and law enforcement. This position is under the direct supervision of the CCMA Supervisor and/or his/her designee.

Facilitate intake and assessment of youth 
<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Provide crisis intervention and act as a referral agent to youth/families that have been taken into custody by law enforcement officers.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Assess youth to determine risk factors for re-offending and Preparation of Assessment – gather collateral information from agencies including schools, area mental health agency, and law enforcement department. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Complete the Juvenile Intake and Assessment Questionnaire (JAIQ), the Kansas Detention Assessment Instrument (KDAI), The Massachusetts Youth Screening Instrument – Second Version (MAYSI-2), Mini Youth Level of Service (YLS) or other screening instruments approved for use.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Complete the level II assessment services to youth and families processed by Juvenile Intake and Assessment; inform youth/parents that the interdisciplinary team (IDT) will review the results of the assessment to develop recommendations.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Develop and maintain record system of youth; document all necessary information according to standards established by the 25th Judicial District Youth Services and/or the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC).</li></ul>
