You will:

<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Conduct planned and ad hoc visits to inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair various technical systems. You will also diagnose any issues prevent equipment downtime.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Perform installations, ensure safety compliance, and document activities.</li>
<li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Be the on-site contact, providing service recommendations and addressing customer needs promptly.</li>

Relevant Previous experience

Onsite Service Engineer

1-3 years in technical field; high school diploma; prefer AS degree; English fluency; customer-facing experience; able to read technical docs; able to use computer software for data recording and reporting.

We are currently seeking:
 A Deputy Building Official and Inspections Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will manage building inspection staff and operations, oversee the review of building plans and specifications and ensure effective enforcement of building and safety codes, laws, regulations, and standards.
 
Job responsibilities:
<ol>
<li>Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises the operations of the inspections work group, including field customer service, plan review, building inspection, code enforcement, and permitting.</li>
<li>Develops service levels and staffing plans; assigns work, monitors workflow, and evaluates effectiveness, methods, and procedures.</li>
<li>Reviews operations to identify and resolve service or process issues; meets regularly with staff to address workload and technical concerns and ensure efficient use of resources.</li>
<li>Provides leadership and technical guidance to staff; assigns and coordinates tasks and projects and supports staff with complex inquiries.</li>
<li>Confers with architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners regarding plan reviews and interpretation of building codes.</li>
<li>Examines blueprints and plans to ensure compliance with City codes and ordinances.</li>
<li>Conducts site visits as needed to review and resolve technical or compliance issues.</li>
<li>Interprets, applies, and explains codes and regulations; evaluates issues and implements solutions related to structural design and compliance.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

<li>Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; and</li>
<li>Five (5) years of experience in building plan review and code inspection, including three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>
</ul>
 
Required Licenses/Certifications:
<ul>
<li>Valid Texas Driver License.</li>
<li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;">Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.</li>
<li>International Code Council (ICC) Certified Building Inspector certification. Additional certifications may be required based on City needs.</li>
