The position is part of the Electrical Engineering Department within the Engineering Technical Assurance organization.PAMC has a wide range of T&amp;D equipment of varying ages and design. The successful candidate will be challenged and recognized for their ability to perform in this environment. This includes the ability to articulate issues to facility operations, business managers, project managers, and procurement. This requires being able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.The Electrical Engineer must be a credible spokesperson, capable of delivering recommendations with clarity and conviction. The Electrical Engineer must be efficient at prioritization and use of resources. Also required is business acumen including the capacity to understand and assist in developing budgets, business operational priorities, and project proposals.    Responsibilities:<ul><li>Act as operational site focal point for T&amp;D systems.</li><li>Participate in Incident Command Duty as scheduled.</li><li>Write, review, execute, and manage communication for site switching orders.</li><li>Respond to unplanned T&amp;D outages</li><li>Conduct and/or lead failure analysis and causal investigations of electrical failures or incidents.</li><li>Perform Management of Change reviews to ensure safe operation and design of equipment and related changes including PSSR sign of for the T&amp;D system.</li><li>Participate on Capital Project Team for planning and commissioning of T&amp;D Equipment</li><li>Lead and/or champion electrical equipment upgrade and replacement planning.</li><li>Assist in scope preparation for Turnaround repairs, PMs, and testing for major electrical equipment.</li><li>Work collaboratively and seamlessly with production teams and other organization stakeholders.</li><li>Participate in long-range planning for T&amp;D infrastructure needs.</li><li>Act as primary point of contact with the external Electric Utility Provider</li></ul>Experience and Qualifications:Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering</li><li>5&#43; years of experience covering aspects of T&amp;D design and operations</li><li>Experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving complex electrical problems</li><li>Competent in application of industry standards and practices to all aspects of electrical T&amp;D systems including IEEE, API, NEMA, NFPA, NESC, and NEC</li><li>Knowledge of power system modeling software such as SKM.</li><li>Experience with risk assessment processes and the ability to identify threats, communicate potential impact, and build a strong case for action to mitigate the threat cost effectively</li><li>Knowledge of high voltage substation and high voltage transmission operation up to 230kV</li><li>Experience with T&amp;D Switching and outage planning</li><li>Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), documentation skills, and confidence to provide firm direction to Motiva and contract staff</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Electric Power utilities experience at a refinery or utility company</li><li>Experience with Transformer oil dissolved gas analysis</li></ul>Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders</li><li>Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)</li></ul>We reserve the right to amend or withdraw Motiva jobs at any time, including prior to the closing date.
