TCOM is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, develop, and evaluate software from concept through production stage, and make modifications as needed.
Essential Functions:
<ul>
<li>Research, write, develop, test, and evaluate software programs.</li>
<li>Work with teams to facilitate deployment related to software programs.</li>
<li>Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing software.</li>
<li>Create and update documentation for designs, and all phases of the project.</li>
<li>Work with external customers to troubleshoot and solve problems.</li>
<li>Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.</li>
<li>Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.</li>
<li>May provide or assist with training needs as it relates to new or existing software.</li>
<li>May assist with quote or request for quote process.</li>
<li>May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.</li>
<li>Trained in the use of one or more of C/C++, Java, Python is required.</li>
<li>Experience with Javascript, Vue, MVC, Go is a plus.</li>
<li>Experience using UNIX/Linux operating systems preferred.</li>
<li>Has extensive breadth and depth of knowledge in a field of specialization and working knowledge of other fields.</li>
<li>Work is stated in terms of objectives requiring planning and judgment.</li>
<li>Performs work of a diverse scope, where data requires evaluation of various factors.</li>
<li>Exercises independent judgment with broadly defined practices and policies in obtaining results.</li>
<li>Has critical project technical leadership responsibility; may plan or lead work assignments for lower-level engineers and technicians.</li>
<li>Works autonomously.</li>
<li>Goals are generally communicated in “solution” or project goal terms.</li>
<li>May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.</li>
<li>Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.</li>
<li>Progressively increases contributions and impact to the team and projects.</li>
<li>Innovative in nature and contributes new product ideas.</li>
<li>Has knowledge of the business side and contributes to strategic decisions.</li>
<li>Ability to apply design theory and methodology.</li>
<li>High level of customer service skills.</li>
<li>Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.</li>
<li>Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.</li>
<li>Travel may be necessary.</li>
<li>US Persons is required for this position.  </li>
</ul>
Education & Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in software engineering, in field related to specific position.</li>
<li>Advanced engineer with 8+ years of career experience, with bachelor’s degree in software engineering or 6+ years with master’s degree. Or experience in lieu of education. </li>
