The engineer will focus on real-time software integration, message handling, and power sequencing within Linux and RTOS-based environments. This effort supports operational weapon system integration and requires disciplined software engineering across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Responsibilities:<ul><li>Integrate externally developed missile software components into an existing C2 software baseline.</li><li>Implement and validate message sequencing and power-up/power-down sequencing between weapon software and the C2 system.</li><li>Develop, analyze, and modify real-time software operating in Linux and RTOS environments.</li><li>Utilize Real-Time Java within VxWorks-based systems.</li><li>Analyze existing software baselines to understand behavior, interfaces, and constraints.</li><li>Debug, test, and validate software through automated unit testing and system integration testing.</li><li>Apply Open Architecture principles when integrating software with COTS hardware and middleware.</li><li>Follow established SDLC and software configuration management processes.</li><li>Communicate technical status, risks, and progress to engineering and program leadership.</li></ul> Qualifications: Required: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of software development principles and Object-Oriented Design.</li><li>Proficiency in C&#43;&#43; and Java.</li><li>Experience developing and debugging software in Linux environments.</li><li>Experience analyzing and modifying existing software codebases.</li><li>Experience implementing full SDLC activities beyond code development alone.</li><li>Experience with software testing, including automated unit and integration testing.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet program schedules.</li><li>Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.</li><li>Eligibility to obtain and maintain at least an Interim Secret clearance.</li></ul> Desired:<ul><li>Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), particularly VxWorks.</li><li>Experience using Real-Time Java in embedded or mission-critical systems.</li><li>Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 and 9 or comparable enterprise Linux distributions.</li><li>Familiarity with Open Architecture systems, middleware, and COTS hardware platforms.</li></ul>This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.  SAIC is seeking a Computer Engineer II to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. This position supports systems integration and development testing for the Testing Infrastructure Group (TIG). TIG at NSWC Crane provides specialized, high-reliability facilities and engineering expertise for the full life cycle --design, development, test, and evaluation --of Navy strategic systems, electronic warfare, and weapon systems. They focus on critical testing for radiation hardening, hardware-in-the-loop, and complex electronic systems to ensure mission success. You will be working onsite in a fast paced and dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential. SECRET to CLEARANCE Requirement: Interim Secret to start. Continued employment contingent upon favorable final Secret clearance. 
 Responsibilities: 
 ·         Develop, test, and maintain software code and components based on defined requirements and design specifications 
 ·         Support full SDLC, including coding, unit tests, integration, and defect resolution 
 ·         Support system integration and Developmental Test (DT) activities
