Position Summary

The Senior Cloud Software Engineer is responsible for architecture, design, development, and validation of cloud platforms supporting Street Smart&rsquo;s traffic management and work zone safety solutions. This role will contribute to the technical roadmap, leverage AI-assisted development tools, and ensure system performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate is a strong builder who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role based in Columbus, Minnesota with an expectation of 2 to 3 days per week in the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

&nbsp;

Cloud Architecture and Development

<ul>
	<li>Design, build, and maintain cloud data services and APIs supporting the Vision platform</li>
	<li>Develop serverless and microservices architectures for device provisioning, authentication, and secure communication</li>
	<li>Implement real-time data ingestion pipelines for edge device telemetry</li>
	<li>Build real-time visualization and device control capabilities</li>
	<li>Process and store telemetry data from connected devices</li>
</ul>

AI Accelerated Engineering

<ul>
	<li>Leverage AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, and ChatGPT to accelerate development and testing</li>
	<li>Implement and execute best practices as an Orchestrator of agentic based AI code generation, test and CI/CD workflow</li>
	<li>Drive automation in testing, validation, and security practices</li>
</ul>

Quality, Performance, and Reliability

<ul>
	<li>Own system performance, scalability, and reliability</li>
	<li>Define and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies</li>
	<li>Identify software risks and proactively address performance bottlenecks</li>
	<li>Support CI/CD pipelines aligned with Agile practices</li>
	<li>Maintain technical documentation and API specifications such as Swagger or OpenAPI</li>

Technical Leadership and Collaboration

	<li>Partner with hardware engineers, data scientists, DevOps, and Control Center teams</li>

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is primarily office based and involves regular computer work and collaboration. The role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Limited travel may be required.

Compensation for this role is a base salary of $135,000 to $155,000 along with a corporate incentive plan target of 10% of base salary.
