Position SummaryThe responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:<ul><li>As a Structural Engineering intern with LHB, you will have customized, hands-on training through direct project experience and related additional duties</li><li>In this internship you will prepare structural design calculations and drawings under the guidance of other structural designers and engineers</li><li>In this position you will participate in virtual and in-person project and department meetings, coordinate the structural design with other team members, and assist in project drafting</li><li>You will also perform construction site visits and field observations, answer field questions, and review construction submittals</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"><li style="color: black; margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 13.5pt; background: white; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited college</li><li style="color: black; margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 13.5pt; background: white; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher </li><li style="color: black; margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 13.5pt; background: white; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel domestically, intermittently</li><li style="color: black; margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 13.5pt; background: white; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions</li></ul><ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: 13.5pt; background: white; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations </li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Prior completion of structural engineering courses including concrete and steel design</li><li>Junior or Senior year of college</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and Enercalc</li><li>Familiarity in using AutoCAD and/or Revit</li><li>Familiarity with building and design codes</li><li>Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities</li><li>MSHA Certification</li><li>Ability to motivate and work productively with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to work on multiple tasks, respond positively to feedback, and openness and desire to learn</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability</li></ul>Salary Range<ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"><li style="line-height: 115%; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">The anticipated rate of pay for this position is $20- $23 per hour.
