The Head of User Interface Development role is responsible for establishing and governing standards and resources necessary to support user interface design and development across the organization’s application portfolio. This includes ensuring that applications consistently leverage enterprise-approved UI frameworks and reusable component libraries, and that these standards are effectively integrated into the development lifecycle. This role will also provide leadership and oversight for developers responsible for building UI components using frameworks such as Angular and React, while guiding the organization’s transition toward React as the strategic target for user interface development. By defining development standards, enforcing governance over UI implementation, and managing the teams responsible for delivery, this role ensures consistency in user experience, improves development efficiency through reuse of standard components, and aligns the organization’s application interfaces with enterprise technology strategy. The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior UI Developer to spearhead the greenfield development of a mission-critical user interface application. As our User Interface (UI) Developer, you will collaborate to architect, design, build, test, and deliver user interfaces for highly available, scalable, real-time systems. You will determine and recommend the best designs based on customer objectives, timelines, and resource constraints. This role demands a visionary who can build robust, scalable, and testable UI from the ground up, ensuring it adheres to the highest standards of best practices. You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our front-end architecture, working closely with backend teams, and ensuring seamless deployment within a Kubernetes environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)
<ul><li>Lead the design, development, and deployment of a new Angular UI application from inception to release.</li><li>Define and enforce UI development standards, coding best practices, and architectural guidelines.</li><li>Collaborate closely with full stack developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless system performance.</li><li>Implement robust unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies for the UI application.</li><li>Architect and implement scalable and maintainable front-end solutions, considering future growth and evolving business needs.</li><li>Optimize the application for performance, responsiveness, and user experience.</li><li>Work within an Agile Scrum methodology and contribute to a SecDevOps culture.</li><li>Oversee deployment of the UI application into Kubernetes (K8s) environments. </li></ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul><li>Fluency in English (written and spoken)</li><li>Active Secret Security Clearance; must be able to maintain a US Security clearance.</li></ul>
 
Education 
<ul><li>BS/BA degree and 5 years of related experience (or 10+ years of related experience without degree).</li></ul>
 
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities 
<ul><li>Experience with Agile Scrum methodology and working in a SecDevOps environment.</li><li>Proven experience heading UI projects and building applications from the ground up.</li><li>3+ years of experience developing cloud-ready applications.</li><li>4+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (v2+), including component-based architecture, routing, services, and state management.</li><li>Experience with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel), package managers (e.g., NPM), and JavaScript runtime environments (e.g., Node.js).</li><li>Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+), including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.</li><li>Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices, including HTTP request libraries (e.g., Axios).</li><li>Familiarity with the Java backend ecosystem and common patterns for UI/backend integration.</li><li>Solid understanding of modern authorization mechanisms (e.g., JSON Web Token / JWT).</li></ul>
 
Preferred Qualifications  
<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Strong understanding of React.js core principles, concepts, and workflows, including building reusable components, implementing user interfaces, and managing application state. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience working experience with NgRx for complex state management. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with UI testing frameworks (e.g., Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Cypress). </li><li class="MsoNormal">Portfolio or examples of Angular applications developed from scratch. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with UI/UX design principles and best practices. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience benchmarking and optimizing UI application performance. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with real-time UI monitoring tools. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Active Full CBP BI. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with Google Cloud</li></ul>
