Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):

1.    Manages the technical and functional aspects of the Plex Systems ERP (Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform), including system configuration, security, and maintaining overall system integrity.

2.    Provides daily support, training, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Plex users across all Sanoh America and Sanoh Canada locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance): 

1.    Analyze Plex system functionality, gather business requirements, and ensure the ERP configuration aligns with organizational and plant-level needs.

2.    Provide day-to-day support to Plex users, addressing questions and resolving functional and technical issues in a timely manner.

3.    Assist with managing user accounts, roles, and permissions within Plex to ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

4.    Support the development/maintenance of user manuals, work instructions, training materials, and documentation related to Plex processes and procedures.

5.    Deliver training/guidance to end users on how to efficiently use Plex modules and functionalities (e.g., Production, Inventory, Shipping, Quality, EDI, etc.).

6.    Support barcode printers and RF scanners on the production floor as they relate to Plex transactions, labels, and data collection.

7.    Work with suppliers/customers to set up, maintain, troubleshoot external access and transactions in Plex, including EDI and customer/supplier portals.

8.    Provide limited desktop/office application troubleshooting related to Plex usage (e.g., browser, Office integration, printing), in coordination with the IT support team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2.    Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred).

3.    Two (2) or more years of hands-on, power-user or implementation experience working with Plex Systems (ERP).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).

1.    In-depth understanding of Plex Systems ERP, including key modules, configurations, and integrations with shop-floor and business systems.

2.    Ability to diagnose and resolve both technical and functional issues within Plex.

3.    Experience configuring, modifying, and optimizing Plex to meet business and plant-level requirements.

4.    Ability to design and deliver effective training sessions and create clear training materials for end users.

5.    Awareness of relevant compliance and control standards (e.g., SOX/JSOX) and how they apply to ERP system management and user access.

6.    Strong understanding of business operations in areas such as production, inventory, shipping, supply chain, and other functions supported by Plex.

7.    Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple incidents or projects simultaneously, ensuring timely support and resolution.

8.    Effective time-management skills to balance daily support activities with system maintenance and optimization.

9.    Working knowledge of supplier and customer relationships as they relate to ERP usage, including EDI and shipping/receiving processes.

10.    Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles, with emphasis on the automotive industry and OEM/customer requirements.

11.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users and clearly explain Plex/ERP concepts.

12.    Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office applications).

REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT (Describe the typical types of decisions made by employees in this job and the likely impact of those decisions on the Company).

1.    This position is responsible for the setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Plex ERP system. If this is not done well, possible results could include user downtime, production downtime, shipment delays impacting the customers and the excessive costs that come with any of the above.

2.    This position is responsible for supporting and training users on Plex functions. If this is not done well, possible results could include data integrity issues, inefficient processes, production downtime, shipment delays, and increased operational costs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS (Indicate job titles for this job’s supervisor and direct reports).

1.    This position reports to the IT/IS Manager.

2.    This position has no direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the environment within which the work is performed).

1.    Primarily office environment with regular time spent on the factory floor.

2.    Possible travel to other Sanoh America and Sanoh locations, occasionally on short notice.

3.    Overtime may be required based on project timelines, system issues, or business needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1.    May occasionally require movement around or behind manufacturing equipment.

2.    May occasionally need to use stairs.

3.    May need to walk long distances within a manufacturing plant.

4.    May periodically require long periods of time keyboarding.
