Please note that this role does require previous Underground Mining experience.

Our Underground Macraes team are on the search for operations Service Crew operator. If you have experience across the below requirements and are keen to build upon your career, apply today!

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • The installation and maintenance of underground dewatering and sumps, water, compressed air and ventilation services from the portal to the working faces
  • The installation and maintenance of all underground emergency response facilities and infrastructure including refuge chambers, firefighting and emergency escape ways
  • Installation and maintenance of the underground services infrastructure (compressed air, water, dewatering, ventilation and communication)
  • Project infrastructure installations (pumping, electrical, ventilation)
  • Installation and grouting of secondary ground support
  • Take responsibility for all tools required to undertake service duties
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and assume accountability for the safe installation of all mine services as per Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Full and current driver licence and confidence driving manual vehicles over rough terrain
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • A minimum of 6th Form Certificate /NCEA Level 2 or equivalent in maths and English       

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years underground mining experience
  • Must have proven experience as Service Crew
  • Re-entry experience preferred
  • Water down, scaling experience preferred
  • Underground Truck experience preferred
  • Approved Handlers Ticket preferred
  • Explosive Handling, Transport and Storage of Explosives and Detonators Ticket preferred
