The City of Upper Arlington proudly operates the Northam Park Tennis Courts and is committed to providing safe and healthy experiences to all tennis patrons. The tennis court supervisor assists the tennis court manager in assuring that courts, facility, and the instructional and recreational tennis programs are operated in the safest, most efficient manner possible for all tennis patrons.

Position Duties
1. Supervises daily operation and maintenance of tennis facility and equipment.
?. Assists with preparing the courts for daily use.
?. Strives to maintain positive interactions with the sta? and tennis patrons.
?. Enforces rules and follows policies and procedures that ensure the safe, e?ective and e?cient operation of the tennis facility.
?. Assists Sports Supervisor and tennis court manager in establishing policies, procedures and safety rules for tennis sta? and patrons.
?. Assists tennis court manager in scheduling sta? to insure proper sta?ng levels.
?. Evaluates throughout the day the need for keeping all tennis personnel on duty if weather conditions or other factors cause few patrons to be using the facility.
?. Assists management team with interviewing potential sta?.
?. Supervises and evaluates tennis court workers and makes recommendations to tennis court manager and Sports Supervisor employment, reemployment or dismissal.
??. Supervises tennis lesson and special event programs.
??. Assists the tennis court manager in the evaluation of the tennis program and facility.
??. Makes recommendations to the tennis court manager concerning major repairs and maintenance needs.
??. Assists tennis court manager overseeing and maintaining inventory of court material, tennis equipment and cleaning, o?ce and maintenance supplies.
??. Assists Sports Supervisor and tennis court manager with preseason facility startup and end of season facility closing operations.
??. Prepares, maintains and submits records including, but not limited to, daily operations, court usage, equipment inspections and accidents/incidents.
??. Follows all established business and accounting procedures regarding the handling or transfer of monies, requisitions, and purchases of supplies and equipment.
??. Performs additional job-related duties as assigned by tennis court manager, Sports Supervisor, Recreation Superintendent or Parks & Recreation Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- College graduate preferred
- At least three [3] years previous experience in athletic facility operations as a teacher/instructor/coach, assistant facility manager or facility manager preferred.
- Experience and/or training in tennis and/or recreational activities is desirable.
- Current American Red Cross or equivalent certification in CPR and First Aid.
- References from present and past employers are required.
Other Qualifications
SALARY, HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- The City of Upper Arlington will determine the hourly rate of the tennis court supervisor annually.
- Flexible scheduling. The tennis court supervisor workweek is to be determined by the tennis court manager.
- Hours worked in excess of 40 hours will be paid at the normal rate of pay with no provisions for overtime pay.
- The tennis supervisor must complete an annual drug screening and background check.
