    The Town of Scarborough's Community Services Department is seeking applicants who are creative, energetic, caring, responsible, and dependable to join our team as an Art Supervisor. This position is responsible for independently planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate art activities for all 12 camp groups during their dedicated weekly art time.


    The Art Supervisor will oversee the art room and supplies, ensuring the space remains safe, organized, and clean. Outside of scheduled art hours, this role will manage extra art time sign-ups, assist camp groups as needed, attend field trips, and support front desk duties. The Art Supervisor will serve as a positive role model and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive camp environment.


    This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) within our eight-week seasonal summer day camp program, serving children entering kindergarten through 6th grade. Applicants are responsible for supervising children both on-site and off-site, planning daily activities, and actively engaging with campers throughout the day.


    Availability Requirements: Applicants must be available June 19 � August 14, 2026, anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Mandatory training will be required prior to the first official day of camp.
     

    Compensation: Hourly rate of $17.00�$19.00, based on education and experience.
     

    Position Requirements:
    Must have completed junior year of high school
    Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
    Basic knowledge of children's developmental needs
    Ability to be active and participate in indoor and outdoor activities
    First Aid/CPR and Water Safety Certification, or willingness to be trained
    Previous experience with art, education, camps, or youth programs is preferred but not required
